Pricing to market : an evaluation for Turkey
Yönder, Erkan; Akbostancı Özkazanç, Elif; Department of Economics (2007)
This thesis investigates pricing to market behavior in the exports of Turkey, which is a small economy. The investigated sectors are hazelnut, dried grape, dried apricot, dried fig and feldspar. The sectors are selected because Turkey is the leading producer and exporter for these products in the world. We apply pricing to market model for the exports from Turkey to each of the largest importer countries and the world in total for each product to check whether there is monopolistic behavior in the markets. ...
Pricing and hedging lookback options using black-scholes in Borsa İstanbul
Samuel Paul, Sharoy Augustine; Sezer, Ali Devin; Department of Financial Mathematics (2016)
The lookback option is a path dependent option that looks at the behaviour of the underlying asset for a specified time frame known as the lookback period. The maximum (minimum) attained during the lookback period is used to determine the option's payoff. In this thesis, the floating strike lookback option, which uses the maximum to determine the strike price for the put options will be examined and will be applied to the assets appearing in the BIST30 index. We estimate the historical volatility of these a...
Pricing and hedging of quotient options in İstanbul stock exchange
Özsoy, Ahmet Umur; Sezer, Ali Devin; Ayaydın Hacıömeroğlu, Hande; Department of Financial Mathematics (2016)
Multi-asset options are derivatives written on more than one underlying asset. As a special case of multi-asset options, quotient options are written on the ratio of two underlying assets. They may be used to replace pair trading. We review the literature on quotient options within the Black-Scholes-Merton framework and pair trading. We study the performance of the delta hedging algorithm given by the BSM framework when it is applied to the quotient options traded in Borsa Istanbul. We also compare the mark...
Packaging of RF MEMS switches and performance improvement
Comart, İlker; Demir, Şimşek; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2019)
This dissertation presents a novel zero-level packaging method for shunt, capacitive contact RF MEMS switches where BCB acts as the adhesive interlayer between the cap and device wafers. Initially, the packaging concept is realized for 50 Ω CPW transmission lines. A microwave characterization procedure (circuit modeling) is performed by curve fitting five packaged CPW transmission line performances to the proposed circuit model. The circuit model consists of cascaded transmission line segments, in which lumpe...
PRICING AND COMPLETION IN A LEVY MARKET MODEL WITH TEUGEL MARTINGALES
Okur, Yeliz Yolcu; Temoçin, Büşra Zeynep; Hayfavi, Azize (2012-10-01)
We consider a geometric Levy market model. Since these markets are generally incomplete, we cannot find a unique martingale measure. There are many ways to handle this problem. In this paper, we choose the completion technique, firstly introduced in J. M. Corcuera, D. Nualart and W. Schoutens (Completion of a Levy market by power-jump assets, Journal of Computational Finance, 7, 1-49, 2004), which employs special artificial assets called power-jump assets. The price processes of power-jump assets are based ...
