The title compound, C11H12O6, has a norcarane structure, which is obtained by the photooxygenation reaction of a cycloheptatriene derivative. The cyclohexane ring is planar. The intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds are effective in stabilizing the crystal structure, in which they form parallel infinite chains along the b axis.

Arbitrarily Long Factorizations in Mapping Class Groups
DALYAN, ELİF; Korkmaz, Mustafa; Pamuk, Mehmetcik (2015-01-01)
On a compact oriented surface of genus g with n= 1 boundary components, d1, d2,..., dn, we consider positive factorizations of the boundary multitwist td1 td2 tdn, where tdi is the positive Dehn twist about the boundary di. We prove that for g= 3, the boundary multitwist td1 td2 can be written as a product of arbitrarily large number of positive Dehn twists about nonseparating simple closed curves, extending a recent result of Baykur and Van Horn- Morris, who proved this result for g= 8. This fact has immed...
Synthesis of ferrocenyl pyrazoles by the reaction of (2-formyl-1-chlorovinyl)ferrocene with hydrazines
Zora, Metin (Elsevier BV, 2007-10-15)
Synthesis of ferrocenyl-substituted pyrazoles via the reaction between (2-formyl-1-chlorovinyl)ferrocene and hydrazine derivatives is described. Depending upon the substitution pattern of hydrazine, the reaction affords 1-alkyl/aryl-5-ferrocenylpyrazoles and/or 1-alkyl/ aryl-3-ferrocenylpyrazoles. The reaction appears to be general for a variety of hydrazine derivatives.
Chemistry of the benzotropone endoperoxides and their conversion into tropolone derivatives: Unusual endoperoxide rearrangements
Guney, M; Dastan, A; Balcı, Metin (Wiley, 2005-01-01)
The chemistry of two bicyclic endoperoxides, obtained by photooxygenation of 2,3-benzotropone (= 5H-benzocyclohepten-5-one 5) and of its ethyl carboxylate derivative 15, was investigated with the aim of synthesizing the respective benzotropolone derivatives. The reaction of the endoperoxide 10 derived from 5 with thiourea gave the desired benzotropolone, i.e., 6-hvdroxy-5H-benzocyclohepten-5-one (11), in high yield (Scheme 1). On the other hand, the endoperoxide 16 derived from the ethyl carboxylate derivat...
Atom transfer rearrangement radical polymerization of diammine-bis(2,4,6-trihalophenolato)copper(II) complexes in the solid state
Goekagac, Guelsuen; Sonsuz, Muammer; Sen, Fatih; Kisakuerek, Duygu (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2006-10-01)
The synthesis of the poly(dichloro- or dibromophenylene oxide)s was achieved by the thermal decomposition of diammine-bis(2,4,6-trihalophenolato)copper(II) complexes in the solid state by atom transfer rearrangement radical polymerization. The thermal decomposition was performed either at different temperature ranges, 110-250 degrees C, for 3 h, or at the maximum conversion temperature for different time intervals, 3-48 h. Maximum yields of polymers were obtained at 190 degrees C and 3 h. The polymers were ...
ROMP-polymers, in asymmetric catalysis: The role of the polymer backbone
Bolm, C; Tanyeli, Cihangir; Grenz, A; Dinter, CL (Wiley, 2002-08-01)
Ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) is utilized for the synthesis of highly functionalized polymers with covalently bound chiral prolinol units. The linear macromolecules act as multifunctional ligands in homogeneous asymmetric catalysis. The solubility of the polymers and their catalytic performance can be tuned by random copolymerization with achiral units in a simple and flexible manner. Use of norbornenes with additional well-defined stereogenic centers in the polymerizable core of the monomer...
