SWIM : a new multicast routing algorithm for wireless networks
Akyürek, Alper Sinan; Uysal Bıyıkoğlu, Elif; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2011)
In this work, a new multicast routing algorithm for wireless networks is presented. The algorithm, called SWIM (Source-initiated WIreless Multicast), is a depth-optimal multicast tree formation algorithm. SWIM is fully distributed and has an average computational complexity of O(N 2 ). SWIM forms a shared tree from the source(s) to destinations; yet, as a by-product, it creates a multicast mesh structure by maintaining alternative paths at every tree node. This makes SWIM suitable for both ad hoc networks a...
SparkS: a language for test process scripting for instrumentation systems
Saeedi Nikoo, Mahdi; Oğuztüzün, Mehmet Halit S.; Department of Computer Engineering (2015)
Calibration of test and measurement equipment is an important requirement in industry to ensure that the measurements they perform are reliable. Developing automated calibration procedures with existing tools requires considerable programming expertise. In this thesis, we introduce the initial version of SparkS, a domain specific language that aims to make development and maintenance of automated calibration procedures much easier for workers in the field of calibration. We present the design and implementa...
GreenSlice: An Energy-Efficient Secure Network Slicing Framework
Akin, Ozan; Gulmez, Umut Can; Sazak, Ozan; Yagmur, Osman Ufuk; Angın, Pelin (2022-02-01)
The fifth generation of telecommunication networks comes with various use cases such as Enhanced Mobile Broadband, Ultra-Reliable and Low Latency Communications and Massive Machine Type Communications. These different types of communications have diverse requirements that need to be satisfied while they utilize the same physical infrastructure. By leveraging Software Defined Network (SDN) and Virtual Network Function (VNF) technologies, the 5G network slicing concept can provide end-to-end logical networks ...
Competitive newsvendor problems with the same Nash and Stackelberg solutions
Serin, Yaşar Yasemin (2007-01-01)
Consider two newsvendors: (i) they compete satisfying substitutable demands searching Nash equilibrium or (ii) one is the leader deciding first, the other responds optimally playing a Stackelberg game. The leader profits more than she does in (i). We present conditions under which the leader's profit does not improve from (i) to (ii).
SWARM-based data delivery in Social Internet of Things
Hasan, Mohammed Zaki; Al-Turjman, Fadi (Elsevier BV, 2019-03-01)
Social Internet of Things (SIoTs) refers to the rapidly growing network of connected objects and people that are able to collect and exchange data using embedded sensors. To guarantee the connectivity among these objects and people, fault tolerance routing has to be significantly considered. In this paper, we propose a bio-inspired particle multi-swarm optimization (PMSO) routing algorithm to construct, recover and select k-disjoint paths that tolerates the failure while satisfying quality of service (QoS) ...
