Highly Integrated 3 V Supply Electronics for Electromagnetic Energy Harvesters With Minimum 0.4 V-peak Input
Ulusan, Hasan; Zorlu, Ozge; Muhtaroglu, Ali; Külah, Haluk (2017-07-01)
This paper presents a self-powered interface enabling battery-like operation with a regulated 3 V output from ac signals as low as 0.4 V-peak, generated by electromagnetic energy harvesters under low frequency vibrations. As the first stage of the 180 nm standard CMOS circuit, harvested signal is rectified through an ac/dc doubler with active diodes powered internally by a passive ac/dc quadrupler. The voltage is boosted in the second stage through a low voltage charge pump stimulated by an on-chip ring osc...
Highly Sensitive and Tunable Fano-like Rod-Type Silicon Photonic Crystal Refractive Index Sensor
Kılıç, Selahattin Cem; Kocaman, Serdar (2021-01-01)
IEEEA highly sensitive and tunable 2D rod-type silicon photonic crystal cavity based biosensor configuration has been designed and numerically analyzed. The structure is optimized so that the light-matter interaction is maximized in the cavity region. Out-of-plane light confinement is achieved by sandwiching the rods between metal plates, and tuning is achieved by introducing an air-gap between on top of the rods and the metal plate. A single rod is positioned in the middle of the waveguide so that the cavi...
Flat winding made of aluminum or copper sheet for axial flux machines
Çakal, Gökhan; Keysan, Ozan (2021-04-01)
A novel flat winding topology has been proposed as an alternative to conventional windings with stranded round wires and other bar wound windings. The proposed winding is manufactured from thin conductor sheets by industrial tools such as stamping press, laser cutter, or water jet. As these tools are widely used in the production of electric machines, the flat winding topology can provide ease of manufacturing without significant modification to the production line. Besides, superior current ratings, shorte...
Wideband phase shifter design using lange coupler and radial stubs
Boyacioǧlu, Gökhan; Demir, Şimşek (2010-12-20)
In this study, four wideband phase shifter circuits are designed and simulated for 6-18 GHz frequency range. Phase shifters are separately designed in order to get 11.25°, 22.5°, 45° and 90° phase shifts with minimum phase error and low return losses. Thin film production technique will be used to fabricate individual phase shifter circuits. Designs and EM simulations are performed by using Sonnet and ADS2008®. © 2010 IEEE.
Wet spun PCL scaffolds for tissue engineering
Malikmammadov, Elbay; Hasırcı, Nesrin; Endoğan Tanır, Tuğba; Department of Micro and Nanotechnology (2017)
Scaffolds produced for tissue engineering applications are promising alternatives to be used in healing and regeneration of injured tissues and organs. In this study, fibrous poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) scaffolds were prepared by wet spinning technique and modified by addition of β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and by immobilizing gelatin onto fibers. Meanwhile, gelatin microspheres carrying Ceftriaxone sodium (CS), a model antibiotic, were added onto the scaffolds and antimicrobial activity of CS was investi...
