Multichannel Audio Coding Based on Analysis by Synthesis
Elfitri, Ikhwana; Günel Kılıç, Banu; AHMET, KONDOZ (2011-04-01)
Spatial hearing enables translation of an auditory scene into a perceived 3-D image by interpreting the acoustic cues related to the sounding objects, their locations, and the physical characteristics of the space. Spatial audio production requires multichannel audio signals in order to convey this information and increase the realism of a real or virtual environment for applications such as the home entertainment, virtual reality, and remote collaboration. As demand to spatial audio continues to expand, ef...
Multiband Microwave Metamaterials Based on Optimized Arrangements of Split-Ring Resonators
Ibili, H.; Keles, S.; Ergül, Özgür Salih (2019-01-01)
We present design and accurate simulations of multiband metamaterials that consist of three-dimensional arrangements of split-ring resonators (SRRs). In order to obtain multiband characteristics with resonances at multiple frequencies, SRRs with different sizes are arranged in well-designed grids. As opposed to unit cells with nested SRRs that are commonly used in the literature, using different-sized SRRs in array forms provide better flexibility in choosing resonance frequencies. On the other hand, strong...
Multiband Metamaterial Absorber Design Based on Plasmonic Resonances for Solar Energy Harvesting
Mulla, Batuhan; Sabah, Cumali (2016-10-01)
A new metamaterial absorber is designed and characterized numerically for the harvesting of solar energy. The design is composed of three layers in which the interaction among them gives rise to the plasmonic resonances. The main operation frequency range of the proposed structure is chosen to be the visible regime. However, the design is also analyzed for the infrared and ultraviolet regimes. In order to characterize the absorber, some parametric studies with respect to the dimensions of the structure are ...
