Certain Huckel type even cyclacenes having one (S-R-type) or two (P-R- and C-R-types) -CH2CH2- bridge(s) are considered for AMI (RHF) type semiempirical quantum chemical calculations. In P-R-type structures the bridges connect two benzenoid rings of the corresponding cyclacene in such a way that an embedded para-cyclophane skeleton happens. The C-R-types contain two phane bridges which are crossly oriented. All these structures considered were found to be stable but endothermic in nature. Also, it has been found that bridging is highly effective on the energetics of these systems. In the homologous series Of P-R-type structures, alternately increasing and decreasing values of DeltaH(f) values occur. In the C-R-type structures, the HOMO and LUMO energy levels similarly exhibit local minima and maxima.

An ab initio treatment on some isomeric structures of a small pseudocyclacene
Türker, Burhan Lemi (Elsevier BV, 2003-10-03)
At the level of 6-31G (RHF) type ab initio calculations, some structures isomeric with the pseudocyclacene are considered. Some structures have the same or almost the same energy values. This situation causes the pseudocyclacene structure to be vague at the level of calculations.
AM1 treatment of some dinitro derivatives of [2(2)](1,4)-cyclophane
Türker, Burhan Lemi (Elsevier BV, 2004-07-05)
Semiempirical molecular orbital treatment at the level of AMI(RHF) approach has been performed on [2(2)](1,4)-cyclophanes (paracyclophane derivatives) having two nitro substituents at different positions (the bridge positions and phane-deck(s)). All the isomeric structures presently studied are found to be stable but endothermic.
The ortho- to meta- isomerization of dicarba-closo-dodecaborane
Türker, Burhan Lemi (Elsevier BV, 2003-08-01)
By means of AMI(RHF) type semiempirical quantum chemical calculations, the conversion of ortho- dicarba-closododecaborane to its meta- isomer is throughly investigated by considering two intermediate structures previously proposed.
A theoretical study on certain iron-sulfur and iron-selenium clusters
Turker, L; Erkoç, Şakir (Elsevier BV, 2003-04-04)
[Fe4S4], [Fe4S3Se] and [Fe4Se4] type iron-sulfur and iron-sulfur-selenium and iron-selenium clusters, all having four cysteinyl moieties as ligands have been considered for ab initio quantum chemical analysis at the level of 6-31G (RHF). All the structures are found to be stable and the stability of Se containing structures increases as the number of Se atoms increases. The inter frontier molecular orbital energy gaps and the HOMO energies follow the same order.
The electronic structure of GanPm(n+m = 5, 17, 29, 35), Ga13P4 (in SiO2) and Ga13P4 (in sodalite) clusters
Katırcıoğlu, Şenay (Elsevier BV, 2004-12-31)
The electronic structure of optimized GanPm(n+m=5, 17, 29, 35) isomers and Ga13P4 cluster in SiO2 matrix and sodalite cage has been studied by Hartree-Fock theory to find out the effect of cluster size and Ga-O bonds on the optical energy gap between LUMO and HOMO. It was found that the optical energy gap of Gal? clusters can be regulated by both the cluster size and the Ga-O interface satisfied by either SiO2 matrix or sodalite cage. The energy gap between LUMO and HOMO of Ga13P4 (in sodalite) cluster has ...
