The mixture of biphenyl (C12H10) and ethylene (C2H4) plasma was used to synthesize fluorene (C13H10) -type films by a 13.56 MHz capacitive coupled RF plasma system. The thin films were deposited on glass slides. Changes of layers were investigated when a negative bias potential was applied to the holder of the substrate. The chemical environment was explored by residual gas analysis (RGA) mass spectrometry. Deposited layers were investigated by UV-visible spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) and ellipsometry. The thin films were doped with Iodine (I-2) for different time periods.

Zinc oxide nanowire networks for macroelectronic devices
Ünalan, Hüsnü Emrah; Hiralal, Pritesh; Dalal, Sharvari; Chu, Daping; Eda, Goki; Teo, K. B. K.; Chhowalla, Manish; Milne, William I.; Amaratunga, Gehan A. J. (AIP Publishing, 2009-04-20)
Highly transparent zinc oxide (ZnO) nanowire networks have been used as the active material in thin film transistors (TFTs) and complementary inverter devices. A systematic study on a range of networks of variable density and TFT channel length was performed. ZnO nanowire networks provide a less lithographically intense alternative to individual nanowire devices, are always semiconducting, and yield significantly higher mobilites than those achieved from currently used amorphous Si and organic TFTs. These r...
Absorption edge and optical constants of Tl2Ga2S3Se crystals from reflection and transmission, and ellipsometric measurements
Isik, M.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2012-06-15)
The optical properties of Tl2Ga2S3Se layered crystalline semiconductors were investigated from transmission, reflection and ellipsometric measurements. The experimental results of the room temperature transmission and reflection measurements performed in the wavelength range of 400-1100 nm showed the presence of both indirect and direct transitions in the band structure of the crystals with 2.38 and 2.62 eV band gap energies.
Microwave-Assisted Simultaneous Synthesis of Conducting and Non-Conducting Polymers from Potassium 2,4,6-Tribromophenolate
Celik, Gueler Bayrakli; Kisakurek, Duygu (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2009-01-01)
A simultaneous synthesis of white poly(dibromophenylene oxide) (P) or yellow radical ion polymer (RIP) and black conducting polymer (CP) were achieved from potassium 2,4,6-tribromophenolate by microwave energy in a very short time. Polymerizations were carried out (i) under constant microwave energy and constant amount of water with different time intervals ranging from I to 7 min or (ii) at constant time intervals and constant amount of water with variation of microwave energy ranging from 70 to 900 watt o...
Ellipsometry study of optical parameters of AgIn5S8 crystals
IŞIK, MEHMET; Gasanly, NIZAMI (2015-12-01)
Agln(5)S(8) crystals grown by Bridgman method were characterized for optical properties by ellipsometry measurements. Spectral dependence of optical parameters; real and imaginary parts of the pseudodielectric function, pseudorefractive index, pseudoextinction coefficient, reflectivity and absorption coefficient were obtained from ellipsometiy experiments carried out in the 1.2-6.2 eV range. Direct band gap energy of 1.84 eV was found from the analysis of absorption coefficient vs. photon energy. The oscill...
Studies on the modification of interphase/interfaces by use of plasma in certain polymer composite systems
Akovali, G; Dilsiz, N (Wiley, 1996-04-01)
Calcium carbonate and carbon fiber surfaces were modified by use of a series of plasma polymers at different selected plasma conditions, and the effect of surface modification, mainly on the mechanical properties of composite systems prepared, was investigated. The matrices for the composite systems employed were polypropylene and epoxy, for the chalk and C fiber, respectively. Mechanical and thermal studies and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) pictures revealed that inclusion surfaces, being independent ...
