intI1 Type Mobile Genetic Elements Co-selected Antibiotic-Resistant Genes in Untreated Hospital Wastewaters
Kayali, Osman; İçgen, Bülent (2021-01-01)
Dissemination of antibiotic-resistant genes (ARGs) from hospital wastewaters (HWWs) is facilitated by the horizontal gene transfer (HGT) and involves association of ARGs with mobile genetic elements (MGEs). In our previous study, HWWs were found to have relatively high copy numbers of ARGs aadA, tetA, cmlA, sul1, and qnrS. In this study, therefore, the same HWWs were also monitored for 3 MGEs class 1 integron (intI1), insertion sequence common region 1 (ISCR1) and conjugative transposon Tn916/Tn1545 by usin...
DRIE process optimization to achieve high aspect ratio for capacitive MEMS sensors
Aydemir, Akın; Akın, Tayfun (null; 2015-09-23)
This paper focuses on process optimization of deep reactive ion etching (DRIE) to achieve high aspect ratio structures, specifically the fabrication of capacitive sensors. Very high aspect ratios up to 70:1 on trenches of 1.0 µm and have been achieved using the Bosch process by optimizing the process parameters. Effects of the process parameters on the etch rate, profile angle, and selectivity to the masking material are investigated in detail. This approach can be easily integrated on conventional ICP equi...
SDIVA: Structural Delay Insensitivity Verification Analysis Method for Bit-Level Pipelined Systolic Arrays with Early Output Evaluation
Ismailoglu, A. Neshn; Askar, Murat (2008-09-05)
A structural delay-insensitivity verification analysis method, SDIVA, is proposed for asynchronous systolic arrays in dual-rail threshold logic style. The SDIVA method employs symbolic delays for all output evaluation paths and works at the behavioral specification level. For bit-level pipelined systolic arrvys, which have data-dependent early output evaluation in one-dimension, SDIVA method reduces the verification analysis task to examination of three adjacent systoles so that by analyzing all possible ea...

EPIIC: a novel encoding pluggable lossless data compression algorithm
Doğan, Taylan İsmail; Sahillioğlu, Yusuf; Department of Computer Engineering (2018)
Encoding pluggable inverted index compression (EPIIC) is a novel lossless data compression algorithm that applies a pipeline of conventional compression techniques on files that are transformed into a structure similar to inverted indexes. What makes this study novel is the idea of compressing the positions or indexes of hexadecimals that make up a file, instead of focusing on compressing the original file. By leveraging the inverted index structure underneath, we have been able to avoid storing the positio...
