Evolution of ion charge states in vacuum arc plasmas

1997-09-29
Demokan, O
A model, based on ion transport along the plasma in vacuum arcs, is proposed to explain the evolution of charge states. Physical arguments implementing such a model are given, and the charge state fluxes are evaluated. The systematic trends of the particle current fractions are seen to be alike for the theoretical and experimental values, and good quantitative agreement is found for electron temperatures, higher than the generally accepted values. Comments regarding the future work and the effect of a magnetic field are stated. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics.

Investigations of pulsational properties and evolution of propagation diagram in some delta Scuti star models
Kiziloglu, N; Kirbiyik, H; Civelek, R (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2003-07-01)
An investigation on the subject of evolution of propagation diagrams and obtaining the theoretical frequency spectrum of some delta Scuti star models with masses around 2 M-circle dot has been presented. The variations of some eigenfunctions throughout the star, the variation of omega(2) with logT(e) and the distribution of nodes of eigenfunctions of some modes along with the evolution of the star have been plotted and examined. For the models at the ZAMS phase, pure acoustic modes in the outer stellar laye...
Study of W boson production in pPb collisions at root(NN)-N-S=5.02 TeV
Adam, W.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2015-11-01)
The first study of W boson production in pPb collisions is presented, for bosons decaying to a muon or electron, and a neutrino. The measurements are based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 34.6 nb(-1) at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of root(NN)-N-S = 5.02 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment. The W boson differential cross sections, lepton charge asymmetry, and forward-backward asymmetries are measured for leptons of transverse momentum exceeding 25 GeV/c, and as a fu...
Electric dipole moments of charged leptons and lepton flavor violating interactions in the general two Higgs doublet model
Iltan, EO (American Physical Society (APS), 2001-07-01)
We calculate the electric dipole moment of the electron using the experimental result of the muon electric dipole moment and upper limit of the BR(mu-->e gamma) in the framework of the general two Higgs doubler model. Our prediction is 10(-32) e cm, which lies in the experimental current limits. Further, we obtain constraints for the Yukawa couplings )over bar>(D)(N,taue) and )over bar>(D)(N,tau mu). Finally, we present an expression which connects the BR(tau-->mu gamma) and the electric dipole moment of th...
Studies of Charm Quark Diffusion inside Jets Using Pb-Pb and pp Collisions at root s(NN)=5.02 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2020-09-01)
The first study of charm quark diffusion with respect to the jet axis in heavy ion collisions is presented. The measurement is performed using jets with p(T)(jet) > 60 GeV/c and D-0 mesons with p(T)(D) > 4 GeV/c in lead-lead (Pb-Pb) and proton-proton (pp) collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV, recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC. The radial distribution of D-0 mesons with respect to the jet axis is sensitive to the production mechanisms of the meson, as well as t...
Evolution of SiO2 matrix during the formal-ion of Ge and Si nanocrystals by ion implantation
SERİNCAN, UĞUR; Yerci, Selçuk; KULAKCI, MUSTAFA; Turan, Raşit (2005-10-01)
Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) has been employed to observe and understand structural variations in SiO2 matrix during the formation of Ge and Si nanocrystals by ion implantation as a function of processing parameters. The Si-O asymmetric stretching peak of absorption spectra were used to monitor the evolution of SiOx (x < 2) films during the annealing process. It was shown that the recovery process in Si-O network is quite different in Ge and Si implanted samples and the deformation cause...
