We investigate the reduction of a general TeV-scale supersymmetric extra U(1) model to a 2HDM below the TeV scale through tree level non-decoupling. Portions of the parameter space of the extra U(1) model appropriate for obtaining a 2HDM are identified. Various properties of the resulting 2HDM are connected to the parameter space of the underlying model. [S0556-2821(98)01623-3].

Scherk-Schwarz reduction of effective string theories in even dimensions
Özer (Çatal), Aybike; Karasu, Emine Ayşe; Department of Physics (2003)
Scherk-Schwarz reductions are a generalization of Kaluza-Klein reductions in which the higher dimensional fields are allowed to have a dependence on the compactiifed coordinates. This is possible only if the higher dimensional theory has a global symmetry and the dependence is dictated by this symmetry. In this thesis we consider generalised Scherk Schwarz reductions of supergravity and superstring theories with twists by electromagnetic dualities that are symmetries of the equations of motion but not of th...
Exclusive B ->pi l(+)l(-) and B -> pl(+)l(-) decays in the two Higgs doublet model
Alıyev, Tahmasıb (1999-07-01)
We investigate the exclusive B-->pi l(+)l(-) and B-->rho l(+)l(-) decays in the framework of the general two Higgs doublet model (model III), in which an extra phase angle in the charged-Higes fermion coupling, i.e., a new source for CP violation, exists. The CP violation for both decays is calculated and it is observed that the CP-violating asymmetry in model III differs significantly from the one predicted by the standard model and model II which is a special case of model III. Furthermore, it is shown th...
Two-mode probabilistic distance clustering
Caner, Yağmur; İyigün, Cem; Department of Industrial Engineering (2021-7-29)
Probabilistic Distance Clustering (PDC) is a soft clustering technique constructed around some axioms. It is a center-based approach and assigns each data point to multiple clusters with a membership probability. The PDC is applicable for one-mode data sets, where each data points’ quantitative or qualitative values over each feature are stored. This study focuses on PDC and consists of two main contributions. Firstly, the relevance of PDC to some other probabilistic models in the literature is examined. We...
Noncommutative nonlinear sigma models and integrability
Kürkcüoğlu, Seçkin (American Physical Society (APS), 2008-09-01)
We first review the result that the noncommutative principal chiral model has an infinite tower of conserved currents and discuss the special case of the noncommutative CP1 model in some detail. Next, we focus our attention to a submodel of the CP1 model in the noncommutative spacetime A(theta)(R2+1). By extending a generalized zero-curvature representation to A(theta)(R2+1) we discuss its integrability and construct its infinitely many conserved currents. A supersymmetric principal chiral model with and wi...
Flexible multibody analysis using absolute nodal coordinate formulation
Çiftçi, Muhammed Ali; Darendeliler, Haluk; İder, S. Kemal; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2014)
The motion of the planar flexible multibody system with large deformation is analyzed by using the absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF). For this purpose, flexible multibody systems consisting of beams are considered. In the conventional planar ANCF beam elements, there are two nodes located at the ends. Each element has eight degrees of freedom which consist of four global coordinates and four global slopes. In this study, a planar beam element is developed with quadratic shape functions and new no...
