Providing Cheap Land for Social Housing: Breaching the State Aid Regulations of the Single European Market?
Tasan-Kok, Tuna; Groetelaers, Danielle A.; Haffner, Marietta E. A.; van der Heijden, Harry M. H.; Altes, Willem K. Korthals (Informa UK Limited, 2013-04-01)
Tasan-Kok T., Groetelaers D. A., Haffner M. E. A., van der Heijden H. M. H. and Korthals Altes W. K. Providing cheap land for social housing: breaching the state aid regulations of the single European Market?, Regional Studies. European Union member states are not permitted to provide aid that will distort competition by favouring certain undertakings or the production of certain goods which may then undermine trading in the European market. This prohibition also affects government authorities that are will...
Leaf anatomy of Agropyron Gaertn. (Gramineae) in Turkey
Mavi, D. Ozlem; Doğan, Musa; Cabi, Evren (2011-01-01)
Agropyron cristatum (L.) Gaertn. is represented by 2 subspecies in Turkey, namely subsp. incanum (Nabelek) Melderis and subsp. pectinatum (M.Bieb.) Tzvelev. This study examines the taxonomic significance of the leaf properties of the taxa of Agropyron Gaertn., comprising diagnostic anatomical features obtained from leaf transverse sections as well as leaf surface micromorphology. Results of the study show that most of the characters, such as the shape of the leaf blades; the size and number of stomata; the ...

Molecular characterization of blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei using aflp markers
Çallak Kirişözü, Asude; Akkaya, Mahinur S.; Department of Biotechnology (2009)
Blumeria graiminis f. sp. hordei (powdery mildew) is an obligate biotroph infecting hordeum vulgare (barley). It is one of the most devastating pathogens of barley, decreasing barley yield in great extent. In order to decrease barley loss, numerous studies are being conducted for overcoming the disease from the sides of both pathogen and host. However the pathogen is evolving very rapidly preventing the effective use of pesticides such as fungisides or development of resistant barley varieties by crossing r...
Structure development in rapidly solidified Al-Fe-V-Si ribbons
Yaneva, S; Kalkanlı, Ali; Petrov, K; Petrov, R; van Houbaert, IY; Kassabov, S (Elsevier BV, 2004-05-25)
Microcrystalline Al-8.5 wt.% Fe-1.06 wt.% V-2.75 wt.% Si, ribbon was produced by a planar flow casting (PFC) technique. Environmental scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and Mossbauer spectroscopy proved that the polycrystalline alloy consists of a supersaturated Al matrix and quaternary Al-S-Fe-V dispersoids. The observed single exothermal peak in the differential scanning calorimetry curves was ascribed to partial decomposition of the Al supersaturated solid solution. After prolonged heating a...
