We show that for the S-state pi(0) production in processes gamma+d-->d+pi(0) and e(-)+d-->e(-)+d+pi(0) the calculations of rescattering effects due to the transition gamma+d-->p+p+pi(-) (or n+n+pi(+))-->d+pi(0) have to take carefully into account the Pauli principle. The large values for these effects predicted in the past may result from the fact that the spin structure of the corresponding matrix element and the necessary antisymmetrization induced by the presence of identical protons (or neutrons) in the intermediate state was not taken into account accurately. One of the important consequences of these considerations is that pi(0) photo- and electroproduction on the deuteron near threshold can bring direct information about elementary neutron amplitudes.

ON THE THERMODYNAMICS OF MICROBIAL-GROWTH PROCESSES
SANDLER, SI; ORBEY, H (Wiley, 1991-10-05)
In this article, we provide a rigorous thermodynamic analysis of microbial growth processes, clarify the role of the generalized degree of reduction concept as it is used in both stoichiometric equations and as a characterizing factor for thermophysical properties, and introduce a classification method to account for errors when using the generalized degree of reduction to estimate the energy and free energy contents of molecules. We maintain the advantages of using the generalized degree of reduction whil...
RESULTS ON THE SUPREMUM OF FRACTIONAL BROWNIAN MOTION
Vardar Acar, Ceren (2011-04-01)
We show that the distribution of the square of the supremum of reflected fractional Brownian motion up to time a, with Hurst parameter-H greater than 1/2, is related to the distribution of its hitting time to level 1, using the self similarity property of fractional Brownian motion. It is also proven that the second moment of supremum of reflected fractional Brownian motion up to time a is bounded above by a(2H). Similar relations are obtained for the supremum of fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parame...
Interference effects in the decay phi ->pi(0)pi(0)gamma and the coupling constant g(phi sigma gamma)
Gokalp, A; Yılmaz, Osman (2001-09-01)
We study the radiative decay phi --> pi (0)pi (0)gamma within the framework, of a phenomenological approach in which the contributions of sigma mesons, rho mesons, and f(0) mesons are considered. We analyze the interference effects between different contributions and, utilizing the experimental branching ratio for this decay, we estimate the coupling constant g(phi sigma gamma).
APPROACH TO THE SHIFTED 1/N EXPANSION FOR SPIN-1/2 RELATIVISTIC PARTICLE
MUSTAFA, O; Sever, Ramazan (1993-01-01)
A different approach to the shifted 1/N expansion method is developed to deal with the Dirac particle trapped in a spherically symmetric potential. The main aspects of our approach are to expand the energy term in a perturbative form and to determine the parameters involved without any approximation. While the formalism is developed for spin-1/2 particles in any spherically symmetric potential, it is applied to the Coulomb case for testing. The calculations are carried out to the third-order correction of t...
Heavy chi(Q) (2) tensor mesons in QCD
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (Elsevier BV, 2010-06-14)
The masses and decay constants of the ground state heavy chi(Q2) (Q = b, c) tensor mesons are calculated in the framework of the QCD sum rules approach. The obtained results on the masses are in good consistency with the experimental values. Our predictions on the decay constants can be verified in the future experiments.
