Blood samples of 19 volunteer national team wrestlers from various nations were evaluated in the study for lactic acid values after their last match in the 32nd European Free-Style Wrestling Championship in Ankara, 1989. This was the first European Championship after the change of wresting duration from six minute bout with one minute rest in between to continuous five minute bout. The results showed that means and standard deviations of free-style wrestlers were 103.97 +/- 11.31 mg% for blood lactic acid concentration, 25.32 +/- 4.03 years for age, 1.73 +/- 0.11 m for height, and 78.63 +/- 22.88 kg for weight respectively. The success of the wrestlers in this free-style wrestling championship had no relationship with the level of their blood lactic acid concentration.

Stature: Does it really make a difference in match-play outcomes among professional tennis players?
Söğüt, Mustafa (2018-01-01)
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of body height on match-play characteristics among professional tennis players participated in the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. Anthropometric features and 11 match-play statistics of 119 players (male=60, female=59) were obtained from the official web page of the tournament and/or from the ATP and WTA. They were divided into three consecutive sub-groups according to their heights. Results revealed that, regardless of gender, players in the tallest gro...
3d kinematic analysis of three different punches in amateur boxing
Düz, Serkan; Korkusuz, Feza; Department of Physical Education and Sports (2011)
The main objective of this study was to determine differences, if any, in three-dimensional (3D) kinematic characteristics of the three principal punches (the jab, hook and uppercut) executed by novice, intermediate and elite level amateur boxers. Specifically, the kinematic variables related to the displacement, linear velocity and acceleration of the upper body segments, translational hand acceleration and vertical ground reaction force generated by boxers were analyzed. The subjects of this study compose...
Acute effects of customizing a tennis racquet on serve and swing speed in senior recreational tennis players
Söğüt, Mustafa (null; 2016-10-23)
A vast number of tennis players use additional lead weights attached to their racquets in order to improve stroke performances. However, there is limited evidence that racquet customization as such boosts efficiency in different age and performance levels.

Synthesis and investigation of optical properties of Ce3+, Dy3+, Eu3+ single doped, Ce3+/ Dy3+ codoped, Ce3+/Dy3+/ Eu3+ triple doped and Yb3+ single doped, Ce3+/Tb3+/ Yb3+ triple doped GDBO3
Taneroğlu, Oğuzcan; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Esentürk, Okan; Department of Chemistry (2020-10-23)
The effect of triple doping in photoluminescence has been investigated in recent years, and it could utilize the compounds in terms of some demands. The photoluminescence activity of the materials can be used for quantum cutting solar cells, white light-emitting diodes, flat display panels, optical thermometer, or for the purpose of biosensor, etc. Single doped Ce3+, Dy3+, Eu3+, Yb3+ doped, and Ce3+/Dy3+ codoped, Dy3+/Ce3+/Eu3+ and Tb3+/Ce3+/Yb3+ triple doped GdBO3 nanocompounds were synthesized by sol-gel ...
