Lithogeochemical reconnaissance sampling of prospects at Kursunlu and Orencik in western Turkey shows both have a similar and definite epithermal precious metal trace element signature. The geologic setting and prospect geology of Kursunlu is such that this geochemical pattern is expectable. The geology at Orencik, however, is very different with mineralization occurring in silicified zones along a flat undulating thrust fault within a melange terrain. Geochemical data, however, clearly show the epithermal nature of the Orencik mineralization.

The electronic band structure of Gan, GaAs and InxGa1-xAs1-yNy alloys
Mohammad, Rezek; Katırcıoğlu, Şenay (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2007-10-10)
The electronic band structure of GaN and GaAs has been investigated by ETB to obtain the band gap bowing of InxGa1-xAs1-yNy alloys lattice matched to GaAs. The ETB method has been formulated for sp(3)d(2) basis and nearest neighbor interactions of the compounds, and its energy parameters have been derived from the results of the present first principles calculations carried out on GaN and GaAs. It has been found that the present ETB energy parameters are capable of producing the electronic band structure of...
Stable isotope evidence for meter-scale sea level changes in Lower Cretaceous inner platform and pelagic carbonate successions of Turkey
Yılmaz, İsmail Ömer; Altıner, Demir (2004-02-01)
In this study, stable C and O isotope compositions of bulk rock samples from Barremian-Aptian platform carbonates of the Taurides, the Pontides, and of their pelagic counterparts of the Sakarya continent in Turkey were measured for the first time. Platform carbonates and pelagic successions including a prominent black shale interval are composed of distinct sedimentary cycles in the form of meter-scale shallowing-upward sequences and limestone-marl/ shale couplets, respectively. The biostratigraphy and the ...
The Jurassic Cretaceous Boundary in marine sedimentary successions in Turkey: a review
Yılmaz, İsmail Ömer (2018-12-07)
Microfacies and high resolution studies at the Kurovice quarry (Czech Republic, Outer Western Carpathians) on calpionellids, calcareous and non-calcareous dinoflagellate cysts, sporomorphs and calcareous nannofossils, aligned with paleomagnetism, allow construction of a detailed stratigraphy and paleoenvironmental interpretation across the Jurassic/Cretaceous (J/K) boundary. The Kurovice section consists of allodapic and micrite limestones and marlstones. Identified standard microfacies types SMF 2, SMF ...
The electronic band structure of AlN, AlSb, AlAs and their ternary alloys with In
Mohammad, Rezek; Katırcıoğlu, Şenay (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2006-09-10)
The electronic band structure of AlN, AlSb, AlAs and their ternary alloys with In has been investigated by ETB. The ETB method has been formulated for sp(3)d(2) basis and nearest neighbor interactions of the compounds and its energy parameters have been derived from the results of the present first principles calculations carried on AlN, AjSb and AlAs. It has been found that the present ETB energy parameters can produce the band structure of the compounds and their ternary alloys with In successfully.
Geology and petrology of the mafic volcanic rocks within the Karakaya complex from central (Ankara) and nw (Geyve and Edremit) Anatolia
Sayıt, Kaan; Göncüoğlu, Mehmet Cemal; Department of Geological Engineering (2005)
This study aims to reveal the geochemical signatures of the basic igneous rocks with well-determined age within the Karakaya Complex in Central and NW Anatolia and also exhibit the relationships between the studied units in terms of geological and petrographical features. The Karakaya Complex comprise a number of tectono-stratigraphic units in the studied regions (the Olukman Melange, the Bahçecik Formation, the Ortaoba Unit and the informally named pillow basalt-limestone association) and the pre-Karakaya ...
