Polarization phenomena for processes (p)over-bar+p -> P+V and mechanisms of OZI violations in phi production
Pak, Namık Kemal; Rekalo, MP (2000-01-01)
The spin structure of the matrix element for annihilation in flight in the process (p) over bar + p --> P + V with P = pi(0), eta, eta', and V = rho(0),omega,phi, is constructed for collinear kinematics. The expressions for all the one-spin and two-spin polarization observables are found, and the consequences for the triplet enhancement hypothesis of strange particle production in collisions are discussed.
Polarization phenomena in the reaction p+alpha -> p+pi(0)+alpha
Rekalo, MP; Tomasi-Gustafsson, E (2001-05-01)
We present a general analysis of polarization phenomena for three-body processes tin noncoplanar kinematics), in terms of a P- and T-odd acoplanarity parameter. The spin structure of the matrix element and the polarization phenomena contain new contributions, with respect to binary processes, which can be conveniently expressed as functions of this parameter. We apply this formalism to the reaction p+alpha-->p+pi (o) + alpha, in view of characterizing the different mechanisms involved and studying the, exci...
Polarization phenomena for vector-meson production induced by neutron-proton collisions in collinear kinematics
Rekalo, MP; Arvieux, J; Tomasi-Gustafsson, E (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1999-01-01)
Polarization phenomena for vector-meson production in neutron-proton collisions, n + p --> d + V-0, with V-0 = rho, omega, or phi, are studied for collinear kinematics when the vector mesons are produced at angles theta = 0 degrees or 180 degrees with respect to the momentum of the incoming beam. It is shown that the spin structure of the matrix elements can be parametrized in terms of five independent complex scalar amplitudes whose symmetry properties follow from the isotopic invariance of the strong inte...
Polarization effects in exclusive semileptonic Lambda(b) -> Lambda l(+) l(-)
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (2006-05-01)
The independent helicity amplitudes in the Lambda(b) -> Lambda l(+)l(-) decay in the standard model and its minimal extension, i.e., with the new vector type interactions, are calculated. We calculate various asymmetry parameters characterizing the angular dependence of the differential decay width for the cascade decay Lambda(b) -> Lambda(-> a+b) V*(-> l(+)l(-)) with polarized and unpolarized heavy baryons. The sensitivity of the asymmetry parameters to the new Wilson coefficients are analyzed.
Polarization phenomena in vector meson photoproduction on nucleons near threshold
Babacan, H; Babacan, T; Gokalp, A; Yılmaz, Osman (2000-10-21)
We propose and develop a model for rho (0) and omega photoproduction on nucleons near threshold based on t-, s-, and u-channel amplitudes. In t-channel we consider pi- and sigma- exchanges and we take the coupling constants (g(v), g(t)) in (s+u) nucleon contributions as free parameters. We fit our model to the available experimental differential cross-section data of gamma + p --> p + V reactions. We find that different models which are equivalently good for the description of the differential cross-section...
