Compositional modifications in humidity sensing MgAl2O4 ceramics

The MgAl2O4 powders were synthesized using the mixed oxide technique. The powders were doped with Na+ ion to modify the sintering behavior and the response characteristics of the spinel ceramics. The variations in electrical impedance were determined at room temperature under relative humidity (RH) values ranging from 21 to 98%. The effect of Na2O addition and sintering temperature on the microstructure and humidity sensitivity of MgAl2O4 were investigated.

Fractionation of partially stereoregular poly(propylene oxide)
Alyürük, K.; Özden, T.; Colak, N. (Elsevier BV, 1986-12)
Partially stereoregular poly(propylene oxide) samples were synthesized via reactions catalysed by a preformed analytically defined trimethylaluminium hydrolysate. These samples were fractionated into two contrastingly different fractions. 1. (i) D-polymers: This fraction constituted the major part (up to 90%). It mainly contained cyclic low molecular weight oligomers (MW < 1000). The linear chains found in D-polymers had hydroxyl end groups. No double bonds could be detected spectroscopically. 2. (ii)...
Activity Comparison of MCM-41 and V-MCM-4 Catalysts for Ethanol Selective Oxidation and DRIFTS Analysis
Gucbilmez, Yesim; Doğu, Timur; BALCI, FATMA SUNA (2009-01-01)
The activity of a V-MCM-41 catalyst with a V/Si molar ratio of 0.04 was compared with the activity of a pure MCM-41 catalyst and some DRIFTS studies were performed in order to understand the mechanism of selective oxidation of ethanol. V-MCM-41 was found to be much more active than pure MCM-41, favouring the formation of high amounts of ethylene over 300 degrees C. MCM-41, on the other hand, was found to favour the formation of acetaldehyde over ethylene at all studied temperatures. It was shown by reaction...
Polymerization of propylene oxide and copolymerization of carbon disulphide and propylene oxide with xanthate salts
Aksoy, S.; Balkan, M.; Alyürük, K. (Elsevier BV, 1989-1)
Anionic polymerization of propylene oxide (PO) using several xanthate salts was studied. Low molecular weight oily polymers with variable sulphur content were obtained by using either potassium ethyl xanthate or potassium benzyl xanthate. The highest attainable conversion of PO was limited to ca 10%. The polymerization was accompanied by formation and precipitation of a by-product salt. In the presence of CS2, an oily copolymer with about 40% sulphur was obtained from the above mixtures. In reaction systems...
Compositional dependence of the Raman lineshapes in GaSxSe1-x layered mixed crystals
Hasanlı, Nızamı (Wiley, 2005-09-01)
The Raman spectra of GaSxSe1-x layered mixed crystals were studied for a wide range of composition (0 <= x <= 1) at 300 and 10 K. The effect of crystal disorder on the linewidth broadening of shear and compressional modes is discussed. The asymmetry in the Raman lineshape was analyzed for intralayer modes exhibiting one-mode behavior. Copyright (c) 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
Synthesis, characterizations and investigation of thermoluminescence properties of strontium pyrophosphate doped with metals
Ilkay, L. S.; ÖZBAYOĞLU, GÜLHAN; Yılmaz, Ayşen (2014-11-01)
Strontium pyrophosphate, Sr2P2O7, was synthesized by solid-state synthesis method; the product was co-doped with copper-silver (Cu-Ag), copper-indium (Cu-In) and manganese-praseodymium (Mn-Pr) oxides (CuO, MnO, In2O3, Pr6O11 and AgNO3) by solid-state reaction method. The variation of dopant concentrations was investigated from 0.5 to 15% by weight. In addition to these processes, chemical characterizations of samples and the investigation of thermoluminescence (TLD) properties of strontium pyrophosphate wit...
