Development and benchmark of an electrostatic PIC/MCC numerical code for simulation of gas discharge plasmas
Arda, İbrahim; Rafatov, İsmail; Department of Physics (2023-1-10)
This work deals with the development of the Particle-in-Cell/Monte Carlo Collision (PIC/MCC) numerical code for simulations of gas discharge plasmas. The study of these discharges is stimulated by various scientific and technological applications, which include surface modification, etching, lasers, spacecraft thrusters, plasma displays, and biomedicine. The efficient adoption of these discharges as sources of plasma for these applications depends on the ability to control plasma properties in the relevant ...
Development and modeling for process control purposes in PEMs
Saygili, Yasemin; Kıncal, Serkan; Eroğlu, İnci (2015-06-29)
To maintain suitable operating conditions, polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell stacks require additional equipment and control systems. Fuel supply, power and thermal management, purge strategy and individual cell voltage control must be in place and operate reliably for a fuel cell system to achieve similar levels of performance as conventional energy generators. System design, auxiliary equipment selection and selection of control strategies have effects on fuel cell efficiency, durability and re...
DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING OF A STATIC DYNAMIC LOCAL GRID-REFINEMENT TECHNIQUE
BITERGE, MB; ERTEKIN, T (Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), 1992-04-01)
Simple, efficient, and stable static and dynamic local grid-refinement procedures for multidimensional, multiphase reservoir problems are developed and tested by isothermal reservoir simulation.
Development and comparison of the extended kalman filter and unscented kalman filter for both tightly coupled and loosely coupled INS/GNSS integration by using MEMS IMU
Güreş, Onur; Baykal, Buyurman; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2019)
Navigation technologies evolved with improvements for the last two decades. Navigation devices are easy to buy and satellite navigation is available all around the World. The key part for designing a navigation system is the algorithms used inside of it. This thesis focuses on the comparison between the proven reference unit and author designed navigation algorithms by using same IMU and GNSS inside of the reference unit with collected field data. In this thesis, both Extended and Unscented Kalman Filter es...
Development and Modeling of a Wafer-Level BCB Packaging Method for Capacitive RF MEMS Switches
Comart, Ilker; Cetintepe, Cagri; Sagiroglu, Ebru; Demir, Şimşek; Akın, Tayfun (2019-08-01)
This paper presents a novel wafer-level packaging method for shunt, capacitive RF MEMS switches using BCB as the adhesive interlayer. Fabrication and electrical characteristics of the proposed package were initially evaluated for 50 Omega CPW lines. Microwave measurements of these packaged test structures were fitted to a circuit model, which was later employed to optimize the package for RF MEMS switches. The proposed packaging method was next successfully integrated with an in-house RF MEMS fabrication pr...
