The title compound, [Cu(C6H2Br3O)(2)(NH3)(2)], a monomeric centrosymmetric Cu-II complex, crystallizes in the monoclinic system. The CuO2N2 coordination sphere is trans planar, [Cu-O 1.943 (5) Angstrom and Cu-N 1.977 (6) Angstrom], with the fifth and sixth coordination sites occupied by Br atoms from the phenoxide ions [Cu-Br 3.129 (1) Angstrom], resulting in an elongated distorted octahedral structure for the CuO2N2Br2 coordination. Each of the NH3 groups forms two hydrogen bonds with the Br and O atoms of the CuO2N2Br2 moiety of a neighbouring molecule. This arrangement constitutes a one-dimensional chain along the x axis of the unit cell.

(2-Hydroxyethy1)hydraziniurn(2+) dichloride
Turgut, G; Zora, Metin; Odabasoglu, M; Ersanli, CC; Buyukgungor, O (International Union of Crystallography (IUCr), 2005-05-01)
The crystal structure of the title compound, C2H10N2O2+• 2Cl(-), is built up from one 2-hydroxyethylhydrazinium(2+) cation and two Cl- anions. The molecular structure is stabilized by O-H••• Cl and N-H••• Cl hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is stabilized by one N-H••• O and three N-H••• Cl interactions, and the three-dimensional network of hydrogen bonds stabilizes the crystal packing. All five hydrazinium H atoms are involved in hydrogen...
Consolidated Undrained Monotonic Shearing Response of Hydrophobic Kizilirmak Sand
Tatar, Huseyin Melih; Çetin, Kemal Önder (2021-03-01)
Geotechnical properties of hydrophilic (wettable) sands have been widely discussed in the literature. However, sands may gain hydrophobic (non-wettable) properties after being exposed to a hydrophobic agent in the nature. The number of available studies regarding the response of hydrophobic sands is very limited, and mostly focus on their environmental and hydrological aspects. To close this gap, a controlled laboratory testing program, consisting of 18 monotonic strain-controlled consolidated undrained tri...
BOROPHOSPHATES - A NEGLECTED CLASS OF COMPOUNDS - CRYSTAL-STRUCTURES OF M(II)[BPO5] (M(II)=CA, SR) AND BA-3[BP3O12]
KNIEP, R; GOZEL, G; EISENMANN, B; ROHR, C; ASBRAND, M; KIZILYALLI, M (Wiley, 1994-04-18)
Vertex‐sharing BO4 and PO4 tetrahedra form the framework of the title compounds. Ca[BPO5] and Sr[BPO5] crystallize in the stillwellite structural type and contain tetrahedral chain anions urn:x-wiley:05700833:media:ANIE199407491:tex2gif-stack-1[BPOurn:x-wiley:05700833:media:ANIE199407491:tex2gif-stack-2], which can be described as loop‐branched “dreier” single chains. In Ba3[BP3O12] the urn:x-wiley:05700833:media:ANIE199407491:tex2gif-stack-3tetrahedral anions form “zweifach” open “vierer” single chains. Gi...
Development of synthetic methodologies directed towards the generation of five membered ring allenes
Algı, Fatih; Balcı, Metin; Department of Chemistry (2006)
Chemists have always been fascinated by the cumulated diene system of allenes with its extraordinary properties such as the axial chirality of the elongated tetrahedron and a higher reactivity than non-cumulated C-C double bonds. The equilibrium geometry for an allene is linear with orthogonal pairs of substituents. An allene incorporated into a carbocyclic ring of nine or more carbon atoms is relatively unstrained. However, if the ring size is decreased, the linear perpendicular allene will be twisted and ...
Consolidated undrained shearing response of hydrophobic sands
Tatar, Hüseyin Melih; Çetin, Kemal Önder; Department of Civil Engineering (2018)
The geotechnical properties of hydrophilic (wettable) sands have been widely discussed in the literature. However, sands may gain hydrophobic (non-wettable) property after certain processes. Available studies regarding the response of hydrophobic sands mostly focused on its environmental and hydrological aspects. The current state of knowledge about the geotechnical aspects of hydrophobic sands is quite limited and consists of the results of a limited number of direct shear tests. To close this gap, a compa...
