Coordination of intelligent agents in real-time search
Cakir, A; Polat, Faruk (Wiley, 2002-05-01)
Search is a fundamental problem-solving method in artificial intelligence. Traditional off-line search algorithms attempt to find an optimal solution whereas real-time search algorithms try to find a suboptimal solution more quickly than traditional algorithms to meet real-time constraints. In this work, a new multi-agent real-time search algorithm is developed and its effectiveness is illustrated on a sample domain, namely maze problems. Searching agents can see their environment with a specified visual de...

Coordination with indirect messages in the stag-hunt game
Büyükboyacı Hanay, Mürüvvet İlknur; Küçükşenel, Serkan (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (Ankara, Turkey), 2017-8)
We theoretically investigate the effect of allowing one-sided communication with costless indirect messages on stag-hunt game outcomes. Since Heinemann et al. (2009) show that players who avoid risk also avoid strategic uncertainty, we chose a sender's level of risk aversion as the indirect message. We show that if both sender and receiver interpret the message content similarly, it is possible that they end up either on the risk-dominant or on the payoffdominant equilibrium. We also show that players i...
Optimization of a Self-organized Collective Motion in a Robotic Swarm
Bahaidarah, Mazen; Bana, Fatemeh Rekabi; Turgut, Ali Emre; Marjanovic, Ognjen; Arvin, Farshad (2022-01-01)
A novel collective organization method is proposed in this paper to improve the performance of the former Active Elastic Sheet (AES) algorithm by applying the Particle Swarm Optimization technique. Replacing the manual parameters tuning of the AES model with an evolutionary-based method leads the swarm to remain stable meanwhile the agents make a perfect alignment exploiting less energy. The proposed algorithm utilizes a hybrid cost function including the alignment error, interaction force, and time to cons...
Management of Service Function Chains in Programmable Data Plane
Yürekten, Özgür (2021-07-19)
The rapid development of information technologies necessitates the use of high-speed network technologies. Software defined networking and network function virtualization are critical technologies for high-bandwidth, dynamically managed and cost-effective networks. Offloading network functions to the data plane and management of network service function chain (SFC) using data plane programming improve network performance. In this study, the framework that enables the management of service function chains fr...
