The thermoluminescent properties of lithium triborate (LiB3O5) activated by aluminium
Depci, Tolga; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Yılmaz, Ayşen; YAZICI, AHMET NECMEDDİN (2008-03-01)
In this paper, the thermoluminescence (TL) dosimetric characteristics of Al-doped LiB3O5 compounds are presented. The powder samples were prepared by the solid-state reaction method and the formation of the compounds were confirmed by an X-ray diffraction study. The TL studies of undoped and Al-doped LiB3O5 samples showed similar glow curve structures. They have three TL glow peaks at about 60, 130 and 200 degrees C after heating at a constant heating rate of 1 degrees C/s. Their comparative TL studies indi...
The deactivation behavior of the TiO2 used as a photo-catalyst for benzene oxidation
Üner, Deniz (1999-01-01)
In this study, the deactivation behavior of TiO2 as a photocatalyst for benzene decomposition to carbon dioxide and water was investigated. The effect of space time on the benzene and carbon dioxide conversions were monitored. Benzene conversion and carbon dioxide production rates were not correlated, indicating accumulation of a carbon containing intermediate on the surface. This intermediate was blocking the active sites at a stiochiometry of 1 C:1 site. High space times favored the production of carbon d...
The redox behaviour of square-planar trans-dicyanodihalogenoaurate(III) complexes in acetonitrile
Hacaloğlu, Jale; Akbulut, Ural (1984-12-01)
The redox behaviour of trans-[NBun4][Au(CN)2X2](X = Cl, Br, or I) and [NBun4][Au(CN)2] have been investigated in acetonitrile solution. The effect of σ and π donor halides and π acceptor cyanide on the redox behaviour have also been studied. Intermediates are observed in the redox reactions of these systems.

The polarization properties of the final state partyicles in the rare radiative b-meson decays
Yılmaz, Ümit Oktay; Turan, Gürsevil; Department of Physics (2005)
A general analysis of the photon and lepton polarizations in the rare Bs ? ?l+l- decay by using the most general model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian is presented. The total and the differential branching ratios for these decays, when photon is in the positive and negative helicity states, are studied. The sensitivity of "photon polarization asymmetry" and the longitudinal, transverse and normal polarization asymmetries of final state leptons, as well as lepton-antilepton combined asymmetries...
