A search for high-mass resonances decaying to tau(+)tau(-) in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector
Aad, G.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2013-02-26)
This Letter presents a search for high-mass resonances decaying into tau(+)tau(-) final states using proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV produced by the Large Hadron Collider. The data were recorded with the ATLAS detector and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb(-1). No statistically significant excess above the Standard Model expectation is observed; 95% credibility upper limits are set on the cross section times branching fraction of Z' resonances decaying into tau(+)tau(-) pairs as a ...
A QCD analysis of high energy neutrino-nucleon interactions
Gamsızkan, Halil; Serin, Meltem; Department of Physics (2003)
In this thesis, a leading-order QCD analysis of structure functions in neutrinonucleon interactions is performed. From the CCFR nucleon structure function data, the QCD parameter Lambda has been extracted. This measurement also corresponds to a measurement of the strong coupling constant. Two fits to the data have been performed, the nonsinglet-only fit and the singlet-nonsinglet combined fit. The result for Lambda was found to be 289 +62 Ł59 ʹ76 MeV, where the errors are statistical and systematical, respe...
A search for tt¯ resonances with the ATLAS detector in 2.05 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at s√=7 TeV
Aad, G.; et. al. (2012-07-01)
A search for top quark pair resonances in final states containing at least one electron or muon has been performed with the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The search uses a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.05 fb(-1), which was recorded in 2011 at a proton-proton centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. No evidence for a resonance is found and limits are set on the production cross-section times branching ratio to t (t) over bar for narrow and wide resonances. For narrow...
A computational study of a close-coupled delta canard-wing-body configuration
Tuncer, İsmail Hakkı; Vandyken, Robert B (1996-06-20)
Subsonic flowfields over a close-coupled delta canard-wing-body configuration at high angles of attack from 20° to 30' are computed using the OVERFLOW Navier-Stokes solver. Computed flowfields are presented in terms of particle traces, surface streamlines and leeward-side surface pressure distributions for the canard on and off configurations. The interaction between the canard and the wing vortices, wing vortex breakdown and the influence of the canard on vortex breakdown are identified. It is computed tha...
A search for a doubly-charged Higgs boson in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2012-11-01)
A search for a doubly-charged Higgs boson in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb(-1), collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The search is performed using events with three or more isolated charged leptons of any flavor, giving sensitivity to the decays of pair-produced triplet components Phi(++)Phi(--), and Phi(++)Phi(-) from associated production. No excess is observed compared to the background prediction, and upper limits at the 95...
