Correlating charge and thermoelectric transport to paracrystallinity in conducting polymers.
Abutaha, A; Kumar, P; Yıldırım, Erol; Shi, W; Yang, SW; Wu, G; Hippalgaonkar, K (2020-04-08)
The conceptual understanding of charge transport in conducting polymers is still ambiguous due to a wide range of paracrystallinity (disorder). Here, we advance this understanding by presenting the relationship between transport, electronic density of states and scattering parameter in conducting polymers. We show that the tail of the density of states possesses a Gaussian form confirmed by two-dimensional tight-binding model supported by Density Functional Theory and Molecular Dynamics simulations. Comparative methods in the determination of wax content and pour points of crude oils
Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Claudy, P. (2007-12-01)
In this research, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and gas chromatography is used to determine the wax content of fourteen crude oils of different sources. Different empirical equations were applied to compare the wax content of crude oils. For the fourteen crude oil samples with the wax content ranging from 7.5 to 43.8 mass%, it was observed that the results of empirical equations were in good agreement with those determined by DSC and GC. Accordingly, a correlation between ASTM pour point and the t...
Concise synthesis, electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry of phthalocyanines having triazole functionality
KARACA, Huseyin; SEZER, Serdar; Ozalp-Yaman, Seniz; Tanyeli, Cihangir (Elsevier BV, 2014-04-10)
The synthesis of novel metallophthalocyanines (M = Zn, Ni) bearing substituted benzyl protected 1,2,3-triazole moieties at peripheral positions is described for the first time via direct cyclotetramerization. These complexes have been characterized by a combination of FT-IR, H-1 NMR, HRMS and UVVis spectroscopy techniques and all the new compounds are highly soluble in most common organic solvents. In addition, the electrochemical and electrochromic behaviors of the complexes are investigated. Cyclic voltam...
Covariance Matrix Estimation of Texture Correlated Compound-Gaussian Vectors for Adaptive Radar Detection
Candan, Çağatay; Pascal, Frederic (2022-01-01)
Covariance matrix estimation of compound-Gaussian vectors with texture-correlation (spatial correlation for the adaptive radar detectors) is examined. The texture parameters are treated as hidden random parameters whose statistical description is given by a Markov chain. States of the chain represent the value of texture coefficient and the transition probabilities establish the correlation in the texture sequence. An Expectation-Maximization (EM) method based covariance matrix estimation solution is given ...
Quantifying seismic design criteria for concrete buildings
Tüken, Ahmet; Atımtay, Ergin; Department of Civil Engineering (2004)
The amount of total and relative sway of a framed or a composite (frame-shear wall) building is of utmost importance in assessing the seismic resistance of the building. Therefore, the design engineer must calculate the sway profile of the building several times during the design process. However, it is not a simple task to calculate the sway of a three-dimensional structure. Of course, computer programs can do the job, but developing the three-dimensional model becomes necessary, which is obviously tedious...
