Time-Domain Characterization of the Radiation Pattern of the Terahertz Photoconductive Antennas
Elmabruk, Kholoud; Demir, Kazim; Altan, Hakan; Sahin, Asaf Behzat; ÜNLÜ, MEHMET (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2019-06-01)
We present a novel method to characterize the radiation pattern of the terahertz photoconductive antennas in time-domain. The method uses a modified version of the terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system, where we use the basics of physical optics and the optical path compensation principle using the delay line in the system in order to detect the spatial distribution of the terahertz radiation of the photoconductive antennas in two major planes. Using this method, we investigate two terahertz photoconduc...
Time-domain calculation of sound propagation in lined ducts with sheared flows
Özyörük, Yusuf (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), 2000-05-01)
A recent application of the time-domain equivalent of the classical acoustic impedance condition, i.e., the particle displacement continuity equation, to numerical simulations of a Bow-impedance tube in the time domain yielded reasonably good results with uniform mean flows. The present paper extends this application to include sheared mean-flow effects on sound propagation over acoustically treated walls. To assess the prediction improvements with sheared flows, especially at relatively high Mach numbers, ...

Time-resolved measurements of the B-2 Sigma state of SrF by laser spectroscopy
Berg, LE; Ekvall, K; Hansson, T; Iwamae, A; Zengin, V; Husain, D; Royen, P (1996-01-12)
We report a time-resolved investigation of the low-lying state, B-2 Sigma, of gaseous SrF using laser spectroscopy with the following derived zero-pressure lifetime tau(B (2) Sigma(v' = 0)) = 25.4 +/- 0.8 ns. Such measurements constitute an important contribution to our overall understanding of excited alkaline earth halides. They are also applied to the interpretation of molecular dynamic investigations of halogen atomic abstraction reactions by excited atoms, in the present case, Sr[5s5p(P-3(J))], with mo...
Time-domain simulation of directive sources in 3-D digital waveguide mesh-based acoustical models
Hacıhabiboğlu, Hüseyin; Günel Kılıç, Banu (2008-07-01)
Digital waveguide mesh (DWM) models offer a simple, accurate, time-domain, numerical solution of the wave equation. A specific case where such accurate and computationally simple solutions are needed is the acoustical modeling of open or closed volumes. It is possible to model 3-D propagation of waves in enclosures such as rooms using DWM models. Generally, idealized omnidirectional sources are used for obtaining the impulse response in the DWM. However, real-life sound sources are never completely isotropi...
