Drilling of gas hydrate reservoirs
Merey, Sukru (2016-09-01)
With the consumption of conventional hydrocarbon reserves and advancement in drilling technology, recently there is a high interest in gas hydrates in the world. Due to lack of experience and sensitive nature of gas hydrates, drilling in gas hydrate reservoirs were considered as risky. However, recent drilling data in gas hydrates shows that successful drilling operations in gas hydrate reservoirs are possible with some special measurements such as specially designed drilling fluid and cement slurry etc. In...
Locating mobile facilities in railway construction management
Guden, Huseyin; Süral, Haldun (2014-06-01)
The location problem with mobile facilities is motivated by a real-life railway construction project. In railway construction, (im)mobile concrete batching facilities are located to build viaducts and tunnels on a line over a planning horizon. The problem is to determine the number and types of facilities to be located, to schedule the movement of mobile facilities, and to make concrete production-allocation decisions, so that all requirements are satisfied, facility capacities are not violated, and the tot...
UPGRADING VALUABLE MINERALIZATION AND REJECTING MAGNESIUM SILICATES BY PRE-CONCENTRATION OF MAFIC ORES
Altun, Naci Emre; Klein, B (2014-01-01)
Amenability of mafic ores to pre-concentration was investigated with respect to ore mineralization characteristics. For the pre-concentration tests seven ores from various nickel-copper operations at Sudbury, Ontario were subjected to dense medium separation. Size assays of metal values, i.e. distribution of nickel and copper with respect to size fractions, were also determined. The ores were assessed in three categories of valuable mineralization as massive pure sulphides, coarse massive sulphide grains an...

DIGGING PITS AND MAKING PLACES AT UGURLU DURING THE SIXTH MILLENNIUM BC
Karamurat, Cansu; Atakuman, Çiğdem; ERDOĞU, BURÇİN (Wiley, 2021-01-01)
The site of Ugurlu on the island of Gokceada (Imbros) is the earliest known Neolithic settlement within the Aegean Islands (c.6800-4500 cal. BC). In total, 37 pits, associated with a rich variety of artefacts as well as human and animal bones were excavated in the Late Neolithic and Early Chalcolithic levels of the site (c.5900-4500 BC). The pits belonging to the early sixth millennium BC levels of Ugurlu were small and located within the houses that seem to have gone through multiple episodes of house dest...
