Q-ball formation in the MSSM with explicit CP violation
Boz, M; Demir, DA; Pak, Namık Kemal (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2000-03-07)
Q-balls generically exist in the supersymmetric extensions of the standard model. Taking into account the additional sources of CP violation, which are naturally accommodated by the supersymmetric models, it is shown that the Q-ball matter depends additionally on individual CP phases, whereas mass per unit charge in the Q-ball depends only on the relative phases. There are regions of the parameter space where there is no stable Q-ball solution in the CP-conserving limit whereas finite CP phases induce a sta...
Q-ary Asymmetric LOCO Codes: Constrained Codes Supporting Flash Evolution
Hareedy, Ahmed; Dabak, Beyza; Calderbank, Robert (2020-06-01)
© 2020 IEEE.Flash memory devices are winning the competition for storage density against magnetic recording devices. This outcome results from advances in physics that allow storage of more than one bit per cell, coupled with advances in signal processing that reduce the effect of physical instabilities. Constrained codes are used in storage to avoid problematic patterns. Recently, we introduced binary symmetric lexicographically-ordered constrained codes (LOCO codes) for data storage and transmission. This...
Q nucleoside levels of tRNAs in meningiomas and astrocytomas

Frequency dependent dynamics of semiconductor microcavities under ultrafast carrier switching
Ctistis, Georgios; Yüce, Emre; Julien, Claudon; Allard P, Mosk; Gerard, Jean-Michel; Vos, Willem L (2014-04-21)
We present ultrafast reflectivity measurements on the dynamics of optically excited free carriers in semiconductor microcavities. We observe that the relaxation dynamics of the switched cavity is strongly frequency dependent, which points towards multiple carrier populations.
Q-MODIFICATION OF TRANSFER-RNAS IN HUMAN BRAIN-TUMORS
AYTAC, U; Gündüz, Ufuk (1994-01-01)
Queuosine (Q nucleoside) is a highly modified guanosine analog and is present only in the first position of the anticodons of tRNA(Tyr), tRNA(His), tRNA(Asn) and tRNA(Asp). The levels of Q in normal human brain and two different types of human brain tumors (meningiomas and astrocytomas) were determined by using an enzymatic assay method. tRNAs isolated from tumor tissues contained decreased amounts of Q when compared to tRNAs from normal (i.e. non-tumor) brain tissue. There was a relationship between the le...
