CAR Approach for the Internet of Things
Al-Turjman, Fadi; GÜNAY, MELİH (2016-12-01)
In this paper, we propose a novel context-aware routing (CAR) approach that uses the cloud as an extra level of data-request processing to improve the network performance in terms of data delivery. Data delivery in the Internet of Things depends heavily on numerous factors, such as the amount of data, end-to-end in-network delay, and setup time. The CAR approach is significantly improving the current request-response model, especially while the exchanged in-network data amount increases and data are sent fr...
Driver Subnetwork Identification by Community Detection and Network Dismantling Methods
Bas, Fatma Ulkem; Dikli, Sertan Ali; Tunçbağ, Nurcan (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi Enformatik Enstitüsü; 2022-10)
During the tumor evolution, cancer driver mutations accumulate on some specific genes (oncogenes, tumor suppressors) which promote cell proliferation. Driver mutations generally show themselves as a deleterious mutation in the tumor-suppressor genes, such as p53. Similarly, proto-oncogenes can be mutated and turn into oncogenes, which, as the name implies, means the cancer-inducing genes being expressed higher than their trending levels. These biomarkers altogether are called cancer driver genes in the exte...
Auto-Calibrating Threshold Compensation Technique for RF Energy Harvesters
Gharehbaghi, Kaveh; Zorlu, Ozge; Kocer, Fatih; Külah, Haluk (2015-05-19)
This paper presents the design of a new threshold compensation technique for UHF Dickson rectifiers. The proposed solution addresses the efficiency reduction of previous architectures especially under large input powers. The measurements show that the proposed technique achieves very good efficiency within 10 dBm variation of the input power. Therefore, the technique is suitable for applications where the incident power is not constant. Thanks to the reduction in the reverse leakage current, a peak efficien...

Automobile travel reduction in urban areas and city centers, case study : Ankara
Akar, Gülşah; İnal, Ayhan; Department of Civil Engineering (2004)
This thesis analyzes the car ownership and use issues worldwide and in Ankara. There has been an extremely rapid increase in car traffic in major cities, leading to car dependence and its adverse affects, all over the world. This thesis takes its starting point the driving forces behind car ownership and use, and the increasing problems caused by the car traffic in urban centers. Then, car travel reduction measures and their consequences are reviewed by examples. The urban transportation in Ankara is analyz...
