Bu bildirinin temel amacı iki boyutlu (2D) barkod (karekod) teknolojilerinin eğitimdeki potansiyel kullanım alanları konusunda farkındalık yaratmaktır. 2D barkod teknolojileri eğitim alanında basılı eğitim materyalindeki (örn. kitaplardaki) bilgi ile web üzerindeki eğitim materyali (örn. kitapta anlatılan öğrenme materyaline ait hareketli görüntüler) arasındaki geçişi kolaylaştırma potansiyeline sahip bir teknolojidir. Bu potansiyel bilişsel bilimler çerçevesinde kuramsal olarak değerlendirilmiş ve mevcut deneysel araştırma örnekleri sunulmuştur.
