Synthesis of chiral aziridinyl phosphonates, their biological activities and organocatalytic effect of their phosphonic acid derivatives
Beksultanova, Nurzhan; Doğan, Özdemir; Department of Chemistry (2017)
Aziridines are important three-membered heterocyclic ring systems in synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. They can be used as the building blocks for the synthesis of amino acids, amino alcohols, pyrrolidines, pyrroles, lactams, and oxazoles. Aziridinyl phosphonates are attracting more attention in recent years. They are the precursors of α-amino phosphonates that find applications such as enzyme inhibitors and antibacterial agents. One of the methods for the synthesis of these compounds is ...
Synthesis of phenyl-substituted conduritol B and its mechanism of formation
Cantekin, Seda; Caliskan, Rasit; Sahin, Ertan; Balcı, Metin (Wiley, 2007-01-01)
The phenyl-substituted conduritol B 8 was prepared in racemic form in a five-step sequence starting from 2-phenyl-1,4-benzoquinone(10) (Scheme 1). The reaction mechanism of the key step 12b -> 13 is discussed (Scheme 2).
Synthesis of Novel Benzothiazole-Piperazine Derivatives and Their Biological Evaluation as Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors and Cytotoxic Agents
GÜRDAL HAKGÖR, ENİSE ECE; Turgutalp, Bengisu; Gulcan, Hayrettin Ozan; Ercetin, Tugba; Şahin, Mustafa; Durmaz, Irem; Atalay, Rengül; Quoc Dat Nguyen, Quoc Dat Nguyen; Sippl, Wolfgang; YARIM YÜKSEL, MİNE (2017-01-01)
Objective and Method: A new series of benzothiazole-piperazine derivatives was synthesized and a complete chemical characterization of the novel compounds was provided. In vitro cytotoxic activities were screened against colorectal (HCT-116), breast (MCF-7) and hepatocellular (Huh7) cancer cell lines by Sulforhodamine B assay.
Synthesis of tertiary propargylic phosphonates by addition of trialkynylaluminum reagents to acyl phosphonates and investigation of their antimicrobial activities
Hossain, Mohammad Shakhawoat; POLAT ÇAKIR, SIDIKA; Karaduman, Ayse Betul; YAMAÇ, MUSTAFA; Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı (2014-01-01)
A series of propargylic alcohols containing phosphonates was synthesized by addition reactions of tris-(propynyl) and tris-(phenylethynyl) aluminum reagents to acyl phosphonates in good yields. Aromatic moieties of the acyl phosphonates with electron-withdrawing groups generally resulted in better isolated chemical yield. Selected propargylic phosphonates were tested for antimicrobial activities. Compounds 3a and 3h showed noticeable antifungal activity, especially against molds.
Synthesis of 2-aziridinyl phosphonates by modified Gabriel-Cromwell reaction and their antibacterial activities
Doğan, Özdemir; Gözen, Ayşe Gül (Elsevier BV, 2011-06-01)
A set of new aziridinyl phosphonates (4a-g) were synthesized by using the Gabriel-Cromwell reaction and its modified version developed in this study and their structures confirmed by HRMS, IR. and NMR spectra. All the compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity. They all showed comparable moderate to good growth inhibitory activity in reference to ampicillin and streptomycin.
