Supercritical Fluid Processing for the Recovery of Biactive Compounds from Food Industry By-Products
Yener, Meryem Esra (Springer, 2015-01-01)
By-products of food industry, especially wine industry, fruit and vegetable processing industry, oil industry, milling industry, seafood processing industry are rich in bioactive compounds. These compounds are mainly polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), tocopherols, phytosterols, squalene, carotenoids and polyphenols. Supercritical carbon dioxide (SCCO2) extraction of specialty oils rich in bioactive compounds, fractionation of specialty oils or by-products to enrich the bioactive compounds, supercritical f...
Superpixel Based Unsupervised Change Detection of Manmade Targets on Satellite Images
Buzcu, Ilker; Alatan, Abdullah Aydın (2015-05-19)
In this paper, a novel solution to the problem of change detection in bitemporal satellite images is presented. The approach can be described as 1) Preprocessing, in which both images' luminance levels are approximated to the same distribution via the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) algorithm and noise is filtered out by the use of a Bilateral Noise Reduction (BNR) filter; 2) Extraction of a joint superpixel map of both images using a novel method; 3) Calculation of a variety of met...
Hiperspektral görüntüler için süperpiksel tabanlı hedef tespit yöntemleri
Kütük, Mustafa; Alatan, Abdullah Aydın; Koz, Alper; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2018)
Spectral signature-based methods which form the mainstream in hyperspectral target detection can be classified mainly into three categories. These are the background modeling methods, subspace projection based methods, and hybrid methods that combine linear unmixing with abundance estimation. A common characteristic of all these methods is to classify each pixel of the hyperspectral image as a target or background while ignoring the spatial relations between neighboring pixels. Integration of contextual inf...
SUPERCONDUCTING PROPERTIES OF TITANIUM AND NICKEL SUBSTITUTED YBA2(CU3-YMY)O7-X
Özenbaş, Ahmet Macit (1991-08-31)
The influence of substituting Ti and Ni for Cu on the superconducting properties of YBa2Cu3O7-x is reported. In the series YBa2(Cu3-yMy)O7-x where M = Ni and Ti, we changed y from 0.05 to 0.20. The temperature dependence of the resistivity indicated that all the samples were superconductors with Tc in the range 83 to 93 K for M = Ti. A second phase identified as BaTi4O9 was also observed. In addition, the orthorhombic-to-tetragonal transition temperature was found to decrease with increasing amounts of tita...
