Evaluation of a mobile phone based student immediate feedback system
Çiçek, Filiz; İslim, Ömer Faruk; Çağıltay, Kürşat; Çapa Aydın, Yeşim (null; 2013-11-02)
The purpose of this study is to explore a cell-phone Short Message Service (SMS) - based immediate feedback system and to reveal opinions of instructors. This study is designed as a qualitative one and data were collected via semi-structured interviews with 4 instructors who used the system in their classrooms. The significance of this study is to help to remove obstacles about the design of such cell-phone based immediate feedback systems and exploring pedagogical guidelines/principles.
Evaluation of Agility Assessment Tools: A Multiple Case Study
Adali, Onat Ege; Özcan Top, Özden; Demirors, Onur (2016-06-10)
Agile software development has been one of the most important paradigms of software engineering community. Agile methods that are shaped around Agile Manifesto and principles, provide promising results when applied properly in software organizations. Agile assessment models and tools have potential to indicate agile adoption problems at project level or organization level. In the scope of this study, we identified 37 agility assessment tools. Among those tools, we evaluated 11 agility assessment tools based...
Evaluation of deep learning based multiple object trackers
Moured, Omar; Akar, Gözde; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2020-9)
Multiple object tracking (MOT) is a significant problem in the computer vision community due to its applications, including but not limited to, surveillance and emerging autonomous vehicles. The difficulties of this problem lie in several challenges, such as frequent occlusion, interaction, intra-class variations, in-and-out objects, etc. Recently, deep learning MOT methods confront these challenges effectively. State-of-the-art deep learning (DL) trackers pipeline consists of two stages, i.e., appearance h...
Evaluation of Randomness Test Results for Short Sequences
Sulak, Fatih; Doğanaksoy, Ali; Ege, Baris; Koçak, Onur Ozan (2010-09-17)
Randomness testing of cryptographic algorithms are of crucial importance to both designer and the attacker. When block ciphers and hash functions are considered, the sequences subject to randomness testing are of at most 512-bit length, "short sequences". As it is widely known, NIST has a statistical test suite to analyze the randomness properties of sequences and generators. However, some tests in this suite can not be applied to short sequences and most of the remaining ones do not produce reliable test v...
EVALUATION OF SUSTAINABILITY IN HOSPITALITY SECTOR IN TURKEY AND COMPARATIVE LIFECYCLE ASSESSMENTS OF ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
Akdemir Yılmaz, Kadriye; Elias Özkan, Soofia Tahira; Department of Building Science in Architecture (2022-5-11)
Currently, one of the most important factors influencing the future of the world is tourism, due to its negative effects on the natural environment and consumption of natural resources. The tourism sector, which offers its guests natural and cultural beauties in the region where it is located, will not be able to survive if the potential danger to natural environment and resources is not halted. In other words, sustainable tourism is entirely dependent on the sustainability of the environment and resources....
