This paper introduces a new observer topology to estimate the electrical parameters of induction machines. The observer utilizes classical least mean squares principle of adaptive control and filtering theory. O-line parameter estimation techniques generally require the use of a special test setup or occasionally make unrealistic assumptions such as the availability of the entire state vector measurements. The significance of the proposed observer is its independence of special equipment/drives and its ability to estimate major IM parameters, together with unobservable machine states like rotor flux linkages.

A hybrid uniform geometrical theory of diffraction-moment method for efficient analysis of electromagnetic radiation/scattering from large finite planar arrays
Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem; Chou, HT; Nepa, P (2000-03-01)
A hybrid uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (UTD)-moment method (MOM) approach is introduced to provide an efficient analysis of the electromagnetic radiation/scattering from electrically large, finite, planar periodic arrays. This study is motivated by the fact that conventional numerical methods become rapidly inefficient and even intractable for the analysis of electrically large arrays containing many antenna or frequency-selective surface (FSS) elements. In the present hybrid UTD-MOM approach, t...
A FAST IMAGE-RECONSTRUCTION ALGORITHM FOR ELECTRICAL-IMPEDANCE TOMOGRAPHY
Kuzuoğlu, Mustafa; Leblebicioğlu, Mehmet Kemal (IOP Publishing, 1994-05-01)
In this paper, we propose a fast algorithm for the reconstruction of the conductivity perturbation DELTAsigma about a known conductivity variation sigma0. The method is based on the minimization of a quadratic functional subject to linear constraints, where the existence of a unique solution is guaranteed. The algorithm developed for this purpose is iterative and each iteration is composed of a simple matrix multiplication. The validity of this method is illustrated with several examples.
A New Method for Leakage Inductance Calculation of Transverse Flux Machines
Zafarani, Mohsen; Moallem, Mehdi; Ghadamyari, Mohammad Adib (2011-09-10)
This paper presents a new analytical method for leakage inductance calculation of transverse flux permanent magnet machines. In this method, leakage flux paths are predicted base on the finite element results, and then all paths would be modeled by flux tubes. Finally, the inductance of the machine would be obtained by calculation of the permeance of flux tubes. The validity of the proposed model is verified by comparing the Finite Element results with the results obtained from the proposed approach. Compar...
A readout circuit for QWIP infrared detector arrays using current mirroring integration
Tepegoz, M; Akın, Tayfun (2003-09-18)
This paper reports a current mirroring integration (CMI) CMOS readout circuit for high-resolution Quantum Well Infrared Photodetectors (QWIPs). The circuit uses a feedback structure with current mirrors to provide stable bias voltage across the photodetectors, which can be adjusted between 0 V and 3.5V. The photodetector current is mirrored to an integration capacitor which can be placed outside of the unit pixel, reducing the pixel area and allowing to integrate the current on larger capacitances for large...
A 180 nm Self-Powered Rectifier Circuit for Electromagnetic Energy Harvesters
Ulusan, Hasan; Zorlu, Ozge; Külah, Haluk; Muhtaroglu, Ali (2013-12-18)
This paper presents a new self-powered low voltage rectifier implementation for vibration-based electromagnetic (EM) energy harvesters. The proposed circuit is an improved version of the previously reported rectifier, which was designed in TSMC 90 nm CMOS technology. The circuit is designed in lower cost UMC 180 nm CMOS technology, and uses a passive AC/DC quadrupler structure to supply the external power of the utilized active components. Simulation results show that the maximum power conversion efficiency...
