The problem of estimating unknown signal samples from partial measurements in fractional Fourier domains arises in wave propagation. By using the condition number of the inverse problem as a measure of redundant information, we analyze the effect of the number of known samples and their distributions.

Spectral correction-based method for interharmonics analysis of power signals with fundamental frequency deviation
Salor, Oezguel (Elsevier BV, 2009-07-01)
In this paper, a spectral correction-based algorithm for interharmonic computation is proposed for especially highly fluctuating fundamental frequency cases in the power system. It has been observed and reported that fluctuating demands of some loads such as arc furnaces, or disturbances and subsequent system transients make the fundamental frequency of the power system deviate and this causes non-existing interharmonics to appear in the spectrum due to grid-effect when a standard window length is used for ...
Density functional theory investigation of two-dimensional dipolar fermions in a harmonic trap
Toffoli, Hande; TANATAR, BİLAL (2014-08-13)
We investigate the behavior of polarized dipolar fermions in a two-dimensional harmonic trap in the framework of the density functional theory (DFT) formalism using the local density approximation. We treat only a few particles interacting moderately. Important results were deduced concerning key characteristics of the system such as total energy and particle density. Our results indicate that, at variance with Coulombic systems, the exchangecorrelation component was found to provide a large contribution to...
Feature extraction of hidden oscillation in ECG data via multiple-FOD method
Purutçuoğlu Gazi, Vilda; Erkuş, Ekin Can (null; 2019-10-30)
Fourier transform (FT) is a non-parametric method which can be used to convert the time domain data into the frequency domain and can be used to find the periodicity of oscillations in time series datasets. In order to detect periodic-like outliers in time series data, a novel and promising method, named as the outlier detection via Fourier transform (FOD), has been developed. From our previous studies, it has been shown that FOD outperforms most of the commonly used approaches for the detection of outliers...
Time domain Gauss-Newton seismic waveform inversion in elastic media
Sheen, Dong-Hoon; Tuncay, Kağan; Baag, Chang-Eob; Ortoleva, Peter J. (Oxford University Press (OUP), 2006-12-01)
We present a seismic waveform inversion methodology based on the Gauss-Newton method from pre-stack seismic data. The inversion employs a staggered-grid finite difference solution of the 2-D elastic wave equation in the time domain, allowing accurate simulation of all possible waves in elastic media. The partial derivatives for the Gauss-Newton method are obtained from the differential equation of the wave equation in terms of model parameters. The resulting wave equation and virtual sources from the recipr...
Measurement of the prompt J/psi and psi(2S) polarizations in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2013-12-01)
The polarizations of prompt J/psi and psi(2S) mesons are measured in proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV, using a dimuon data sample collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb(-1). The prompt J/psi and psi(2S) polarization parameters lambda, lambda, and lambda, as well as the frame-invariant quantity (lambda) over bar. are measured from the dimuon decay angular distributions in three different polarization frames. The J/psi results are obtained in ...
