Comparison of microwave and ultrasound-assisted extraction techniques for leaching of phenolic compounds from nettle
Ince, Alev Emine; Şahin, Serpil; Şümnü, Servet Gülüm (2014-10-01)
In this study, extraction of phenolic compounds from nettle by microwave and ultrasound was studied. In both microwave and ultrasound-assisted extractions, effects of extraction time (5-20 min for microwave; 5-30 min for ultrasound) and solid to solvent ratio (1:10, 1:20, and 1:30 g/mL) on total phenolic content (TPC) were investigated. Effects of different powers (50 % and 80 %) were also studied for ultrasound-assisted extraction. In microwave-assisted extraction, the optimum TPC of the extracts (24.64 +/...
Comparison of mechanical and ultrasonic agitation methods for mono c-Si texturing
BİLGEN, Sedat; ES, FIRAT; Turan, Raşit (2016-10-01)
Texturing of a mono crystalline Si wafer aims to create light trapping structures to reduce the reflection losses. Being a cheap and efficient process, alkaline texturing of Si wafers is commonly used in all industrial mono crystalline solar cell production lines. However, standard process with potassium hydroxide ( KOH)-based solutions with isopropyl alcohol ( IPA) addition suffers from instability, high material consumption, and nonuniformities in the shape and the distribution of the pyramid structures f...
Comparison of decoding algorithms for low-density parity-check codes
Kolaylı, Mert; Yücel, Melek D; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2006)
Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes are a subclass of linear block codes. These codes have parity-check matrices in which the ratio of the non-zero elements to all elements is low. This property is exploited in defining low complexity decoding algorithms. Low-density parity-check codes have good distance properties and error correction capability near Shannon limits. In this thesis, the sum-product and the bit-flip decoding algorithms for low-density parity-check codes are implemented on Intel Pentium M 1...
