The Effect of Antenna Correlation in Single-Carrier Massive MIMO Transmission
Beigiparast, Nader; Güvensen, Gökhan Muzaffer; Ayanoglu, Ender (2018-07-20)
This work presents a single-carrier massive MIMO transmission system for the frequency selective Gaussian multi-user channel. It considers both cases of spatially uncorrelated and correlated channel and compares them in terms of the user sum-rate as well as the general performance. We consider a channel with M antennas at the base station which provides services for K single-antenna users. We develop a general expression for the achievable rate among users in the channel with a correlation among antennas at...

The effect of infill walls on the seismic behavior of boundary columns in RC frames
Fenerci, Aksel; Binici, Barış; Ezzatfar, Pourang; Canbay, Erdem; Ozcebe, Guney (2016-03-01)
The seismic behavior of a 1/2 scaled, three-story three-bay RC frame with masonry infill walls was studied experimentally and numerically. Pseudo-dynamic test results showed that despite following the column design provisions of modern seismic codes and neglecting the presence of infill walls, shear induced damage is unavoidable in the boundary columns. A finite element model was validated by using the results of available one-story one-bay frame tests in the literature. Simulations of the examined test fra...

The Effect of Labeled/Unlabeled Prior Information for Masseter Segmentation
Tabar, Yousef Rezaei; Ulusoy, İlkay (Hindawi Limited, 2013-01-01)
Several segmentation methods are implemented and applied to segment the facial masseter tissue from magnetic resonance images. The common idea for all methods is to take advantage of prior information from different MR images belonging to different individuals in segmentation of a test MR image. Standard atlas-based segmentation methods and probabilistic segmentation methods based on Markov random field use labeled prior information. In this study, a new approach is also proposed where unlabeled prior infor...
