Investigation of wheat genes involved in zinc efficiency mechanism using differential display technique
Türktaş, Mine; Akkaya, Mahinur S.; Kocabıyık, Semra; Department of Biotechnology (2003)
Zinc is a metal involved in structure of many enzymes, in the growth and differentiation of plants. Wheat is one of the most consumed cereals. Some wheat cultivars can̕t deal with zinc deficiency and this situation not only reduces grain yield but also weakens the resistance of cereals to diseases and impairs the nutritional quality of the grain. Some wheat cultivars are not affected by zinc deficiency. In this study, ءdifferential display̕, used for determination differentially expressed genes between two ...
Investigation of the effect of substituent on the growth of polymer for 3-substituted polythiophenes via pyrolysis mass spectrometry
Aslan, Evren; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2005-10-15)
In this study, direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry analyses of electrochemically polymerized poly(decanedioic acid bis-(2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl)ester) and poly(terepthalic acid bis-(2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl)ester) were per-formed to investigate structural and thermal characteristics. It was found that when the ester linkages contain hydrocarbon chains, the growth of polymer occurred through both 2- and 5-positions. On the other hand, when the ester linkages contain more rigid groups such as phenyl, steric hindran...
Investigation of carrier transport mechanisms in the Cu-Zn-Se based hetero-structure grown by sputtering technique
Gullu, H. H.; Terlemezoğlu, Makbule; Bayrakli, O.; Yildiz, D. E.; Parlak, Mehmet (Canadian Science Publishing, 2018-07-01)
In this paper, we present results of the electrical characterization of n-Si/p-Cu-Zn-Se hetero-structure. Sputtered film was found in Se-rich behavior with tetragonal polycrystalline nature along with (112) preferred orientation. The band gap energy for direct optical transitions was obtained as 2.65 eV. The results of the conductivity measurements indicated p-type behavior and carrier transport mechanism was modelled according to thermionic emission theory. Detailed electrical characterization of this stru...
