Investigation of Portevin-LeChatelier Bands in 5754 Aluminum Alloy under Various Strain Paths
Aytuna, O. Berk; Efe, Mert (Elsevier BV; 2019-01-01)
This work investigated the mechanical and microstructural effects of Portevin-LeChatelier bands in aluminum 5754 alloy under different loading conditions. For these conditions (equibiaxial and uniaxial), an in-plane biaxial test apparatus was utilized with a miniature cruciform specimen. The amount and magnitude of load jumps and drops (serrations) due to the PLC bands were monitored by load cells and strain distributions were measured by digital image correlation technique. Under biaxial stretching, PLC ba...
Investigation of structure-spectroscopy-function relationship of two-dimensional J-aggregates of tetrachlorobenzimidazolocarbocyanine preferentially oriented in poly-vinyl-alcohol thin films
Gulen, Demet; Atasoylu, Onur; ÖZÇELİK, Serdar (Elsevier BV, 2009-01-07)
The structure-spectroscopy-function relationship of 1,1',1,3,3'-tetraethyl-5,5',6,6'-tetrachlorobenzimidazolocarbocyanine (TTBC) aggregates is studied using a combination of experimental and theoretical techniques. The aggregates are macroscopically aligned in poly-vinyl-alcohol thin films by vertical spin coating. Angular dependence of the UV-Vis spectra is measured at eleven different orientations between the electric field polarization and the macroscopic alignment axis. The aggregates are characterized ...
Investigation of the Ferroelectric Paraelectric Phase Transition in Bulk and Confined Sodium Nitrite
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Informa UK Limited, 2014-7-23)
Levanyuk-Sannikov model is used to describe the ferroelectric-paraelectric transition in bulk and confined sodium nitrite (NaNO2). It is found on the basis of this model that the phase transition of NaNO2 for the bulk material is weakly first order whereas for the confined material it is a second order transition. Calculations are performed and the fitted parameters are obtained using this model for the ferroelectric-paraelectric transition in NaNO2. Our results indicate that the Levanyuk-Sannikov model des...
Investigation of precursor sequence and post-annealing effects on the properties of Cu2SnZnSe4 thin films deposited by the elemental thermal evaporation
Bayrakli, O.; Terlemezoğlu, Makbule; Gullu, H. H.; Parlak, Mehmet (IOP Publishing, 2017-08-01)
Cu2ZnSnSe4 (CZTSe) thin films were deposited onto soda lime glass substrates by thermal evaporation using the pure elemental sources. The influence of the sequential deposition order of Zn and Sn precursor layers for different evaporation cycles were investigated. In situ annealing at 400 degrees C under Se evaporation was applied to promote conversion of precursor layers to quaternary compound structure and additionally, subsequent post-annealing processes under nitrogen atmosphere at 450 degrees C was car...
