High resolution tsunami vulnerability assessment by GISbased multicriteria decision making analysis at Yenikapı İstanbul

İstanbul is a mega city with its various coastal utilities located at the northern coast of the Sea of Marmara. At Yenikapı, there are critical vulnerable coastal utilities, structures and active metropolitan life. Fishery ports, commercial ports, small craft harbors, passenger terminals of intercity maritime transportation, water front commercial and/or recreational structures with residential/commercial areas and public utility areas are some examples of coastal utilization which are vulnerable against ma...

High Resolution XMM-Newton Data of Nova Outbursts using Warm & Hot Absorber Models
Balman, Şölen; Pekon, Y. (2011-07-08)
We reanalyze a selection of the XMM-Newton RGS (Reflection Grating Spectrometer) data of two classical novae; V4743 Sgr and V2491 Cyg. The high resolution nova spectra in the X-ray wavelengths show existence of absorption features (e.g., blue shifted). Our main aim is to model the absorption components detected in the high resolution spectra independently from the assumed continuum model. We assume that there is complex absorption of interstellar, photospheric, and of collisionally and/or photoionized gas o...
High resolution imaging of anisotropic conductivity with magnetic resonance electrical impedance tomography (mr-eit)
Değirmenci, Evren; Eyüboğlu, Behçet Murat; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2010)
Electrical conductivity of biological tissues is a distinctive property which differs among tissues. It also varies according to the physiological and pathological state of tissues. Furthermore, in order to solve the bioelectric field problems accurately, electrical conductivity information is essential. Magnetic Resonance Electrical Impedance Tomography (MREIT) technique is proposed to image this information with high spatial resolution. However, almost all MREIT algorithms proposed to date assumes isotrop...
