Generalized nonbinary sequences with perfect autocorrelation, flexible alphabets and new periods
BOZTAŞ, Serdar; Özbudak, Ferruh; TEKİN, Eda (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2018-05-01)
We extend the parameters and generalize existing constructions of perfect autocorrelation sequences over complex alphabets. In particular, we address the PSK+ constellation (Boztas and Udaya 2010) and present an extended number theoretic criterion which is sufficient for the existence of the new sequences with perfect autocorrelation. These sequences are shown to exist for nonprime alphabets and more general lengths in comparison to existing designs. The new perfect autocorrelation sequences provide novel a...
Generalized Hybrid Surface Integral Equations for Finite Periodic Perfectly Conducting Objects
Karaosmanoglu, Bariscan; Ergül, Özgür Salih (2017-01-01)
Hybrid formulations that are based on simultaneous applications of diversely weighted electric-field integral equation (EFIE) and magnetic-field integral equation (MFIE) on periodic but finite structures involving perfectly conducting surfaces are presented. Formulations are particularly designed for closed conductors by considering the unit cells of periodic structures as sample problems for optimizing EFIE and MFIE weights in selected regions. Three-region hybrid formulations, which are designed by geneti...
Generalized area tracking using complex discrete wavelet transform: the complex wavelet tracker
Yılmaz, Şener; Severcan, Mete; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2007)
In this work, a new method is proposed that can be used for area tracking. This method is based on the Complex Discrete Wavelet Transform (CDWT) developed by Magarey and Kingsbury. The CDWT has its advantages over the traditional Discrete Wavelet Transform such as approximate shift invariance, improved directional selectivity, and robustness to noise and illumination changes. The proposed method is a generalization of the CDWT based motion estimation method developed by Magarey and Kingsbury. The Complex Wa...
Generalized fragility curves for earthquake insurance premiums
Ekici, Melis Aysun; Yakut, Ahmet; Kestel, Sevtap Ayşe; Department of Earthquake Studies (2015)
Since there are three major earthquake lines on Anatolia which are North Anatolian Fault, East Anatolian Fault and West Anatolian Fault, earthquake is one of the most important issue for Turkey. Following the damages of Kocaeli (1999) Earthquake to our economy, importance of earthquake insurance was understood and therefore Compulsory Earthquake Insurance was put into action. However, for the calculation of insurance premiums which were specified by Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool (TCIP), only type of bu...
Generalized force vectors for multi-mode pushover analysis of bridges
Perdomo, Camilo; Monteiro, Ricardo; Sucuoğlu, Haluk (2017-12-01)
Nonlinear static procedures (NSPs) are gaining wider use in performance based earthquake engineering practice due to their simplicity compared to rigorous nonlinear time history analysis (NTHA), and being implemented in the new generation of seismic design codes. In this study, a recently proposed Nonlinear Static Procedure (NSP) for the seismic performance assessment of building structures using the concept of generalized force vectors (GFV), is further validated through application to reinforced concrete ...
