Electronic textiles received significant attention with the advancements in materials for wearable electronics. Lack of washing stability and the need for an external power source for wearable electronics are the two major problems that needs to be addressed urgently. Significant portion of the reported solutions fail to propose simple and scalable production steps. In this study, a low cost and scalable design was proposed as a combined solution for aforementioned problems. Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)...

Triangular built-in-storage solar water heater
Al-Shariah, A.M.; Ecevit, Ahmet Berkant; Apaydın, Erdal (Elsevier BV, 1989)
Triangular built-in-storage solar water heaters of different volumes are studied. These is good agreement between the mathematical model and the experimental results. The collectors are observed to operate with high efficiency during the heating period and also during the 24-hour cycle.
Flexible chiral metamaterials with dynamically optical activity and high negative refractive index
Dincer, Furkan; KARAASLAN, MUHARREM; ÜNAL, EMİN; Akgol, Oguzhan; Sabah, Cumali (2015-07-10)
We demonstrate numerically and experimentally chiral metamaterials (MTMs) based on gammadion-bilayer cross-wires that uniaxially create giant optical activity and tunable circular dichroism as a result of the dynamic design. In addition, the suggested structure gives high negative refractive index due to the large chirality in order to obtain an efficient polarization converter. We also present a numerical analysis in order to show the additional features of the proposed chiral MTM in detail. Therefore, a M...
