Atom transfer rearrangement radical polymerization of (2,4,6-trihalophenolato) Fe(II)/Ce(III)/Ce(IV) complexes in solid state
Celik, Gueler Bayrakli; Sultan, Wadie; Kisakuerek, Duygu (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2006-11-21)
The synthesis of poly(dihalophenylene oxide)s by thermal decomposition of Fe(II), Ce(III) and Ce(IV) phenolato complexes with pyridine as neutral ligands were achieved at different temperature ranges (140 degrees - 250 degrees C) with different time intervals (3 - 48 hr) via atom transfer rearrangement radical polymerization (ATRRP). The complexes were characterized by FTIR, DSC, UV-Visible, mass spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility and elemental analyses. Structural analyses of polymers were performed by ...
Atom trapping vapor generation atomic absorption spectrometry for inorganicarsenic speciation analysis /
Njie, Njaw; Ataman, Osman Yavuz; Department of Chemistry (2014)
Speciation analysis is important for arsenic. Novel methods to improve the sensitivity for determination of total arsenic and arsenic speciation have been developed. The techniques basically rely on generation of volatile arsenic species by reaction with sodium borohydride followed by trapping on a W-coil atomizer and finally releasing analyte atoms by heating the atomizer; the system is named as W-coil atom trapping electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (WC-ETAAS). Sample solution may be introduced...
Atom transfer rearrangement radical polymerization of diammine-bis(2,4,6-trihalophenolato)copper(II) complexes in the solid state
Goekagac, Guelsuen; Sonsuz, Muammer; Sen, Fatih; Kisakuerek, Duygu (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2006-10-01)
The synthesis of the poly(dichloro- or dibromophenylene oxide)s was achieved by the thermal decomposition of diammine-bis(2,4,6-trihalophenolato)copper(II) complexes in the solid state by atom transfer rearrangement radical polymerization. The thermal decomposition was performed either at different temperature ranges, 110-250 degrees C, for 3 h, or at the maximum conversion temperature for different time intervals, 3-48 h. Maximum yields of polymers were obtained at 190 degrees C and 3 h. The polymers were ...

Atomic chains and lattice vibration characteristics in A2IIIB3VI compounds with tetrahedral coordination of atoms
Hasanlı, Nızamı; Khomutova, M.D. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1977-04-01)
On the basis of the presence of atomic chains in A2 IIIB3 VI compounds having zincblende defect structure, a linear-chain model is used to calculate the lattice vibration frequencies. The agreement of the calculated and experimental frequencies is an indication of the applicability of the model and enables one to determine the motion of various atoms during the corresponding vibrations.
