A vector-valued measure as a basis of a Banach space.
Zheltukhın, Kostyantyn (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, B.Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering., 1998-02-01)
A new notion of the basic measure is introdused. The vector-valued measures which are basic measures are described. It is proved that the Banach space has a basic measure iff it is isomorphic to the order continuous Banach lattice with a weak unit. The connection between the properties of the Banach space and those of the basic measure is investigated.
A MOVING BOUNDARY-PROBLEM IN A FINITE DOMAIN
Dursunkaya, Zafer (ASME International, 1990-03-01)
The heat conduction and the moving solid-liquid interface in a finite region is studied numerically. A Fourier series expansion is used in both phases for spatial temperature distribution, and the differential equations are converted to an infinite number of ordinary differential equations in time. These equations are solved iteratively for the interface location as well as for the temperature distribution. The results are compared with existing solutions for low Stefan numbers....
A Kothe space which has a continuous norm but whose bidual does not

A pseudo-layered, elastic-plastic, flat-shell finite element
Darendeliler, Haluk; Turgut, A (1999-05-04)
A three-node, Co-type, layered flat-shell finite element is developed for the analysis of large elastic-plastic deformations in plate and shell structures. The system equations are derived by using virtual work principle and the updated Lagrangian formulation. Material is assumed to be isotropic and rate insensitive obeying J(2)-flow rule. The displacement field assumption of the MIN3 plate bending element is employed. A layered structure is used to model through-the-thickness distribution of elastic and pl...
A GENERALIZED FIXED-POINT-FREE ACTION
Güloğlu, İsmail Şuayip; Ercan, Gülin (2013-05-01)
In this paper we study the structure of a finite group G admitting a solvable group A of automorphisms of coprime order so that for any x epsilon C-G(A) of prime order or of order 4, every conjugate of x in G is also contained in C-G(A). Under this hypothesis it is proven that the subgroup [G, A] is solvable. Also an upper bound for the nilpotent height of [G, A] in terms of the number of primes dividing the order of A is obtained in the case where A is abelian.
