Cracked semi-infinite cylinder and finite cylinder problems
Kaman, Mete Onur; Geçit, M. Ruşen; Department of Engineering Sciences (2006)
This work considers a cracked semi-infinite cylinder and a finite cylinder. Material of the cylinder is linearly elastic and isotropic. One end of the cylinder is bonded to a fixed support while the other end is subject to axial tension. Solution for this problem can be obtained from the solution for an infinite cylinder having a penny-shaped rigid inclusion at z = 0 and two penny-shaped cracks at z = ± L. General expressions for this problem are obtained by solving Navier equations using Fourier and Hankel...
Cracked semi-infinite cylinder and finite cylinder problems
Kaman, Mete Onur; Gecit, Mehmet Rusen (Elsevier BV, 2006-12-01)
This work considers the analysis of a cracked semi-infinite cylinder and a finite cylinder. Material of the cylinder is assumed to be linearly elastic and isotropic. One end of the cylinder is bonded to a fixed support while the other end is subjected to axial tension. Solution of this problem can be obtained by superposition of solutions for an infinite cylinder subjected to uniformly distributed tensile load at infinity (I) and an infinite cylinder having a penny-shaped rigid inclusion at z = 0 and two pe...

Transformed landscapes and a transnational identity of class: Narratives on (post-)industrial landscapes in Europe
Meier, Lars; Aytekin, Erden Attila (SAGE Publications, 2019-01-01)
Based on 222 qualitative interviews conducted through a large ethnographic research project on transformed industrial landscapes in six countries, the main argument of the article is threefold. First, landscapes and narratives about past and present landscapes are relevant to the identity of class; second, the transformation of industrial landscapes is most emphatically expressed by nostalgia; third, the narratives are a transnationally constitutive element of class identity. The narratives of workers about...
Kırılan Temsiliyet: Libeskind’de Bellek, Tarih ve Mimarlık
Maden, Feray; Şengel, Deniz (Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, 2009)
