RCBI-II: The Second Revision of the Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory
Topcu, Cigdem; Erdur Baker, Özgür (Informa UK Limited, 2018-01-01)
The aim of this study is to update the Turkish version of the Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory (RCBI) and eliminate specific technology names. Validity and reliability tests were carried out with 1,803 high school students. The updated version of the RCBI yields valid and reliable scores measuring cyberbullying and victimization.
RCMARS: Robustification of CMARS with different scenarios under polyhedral uncertainty set
Ozmen, Ayse; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm; Batmaz, İnci; Kropat, Erik (2011-12-01)
Our recently developed CMARS is powerful in handling complex and heterogeneous data. We include into CMARS the existence of uncertainty about the scenarios. Indeed, data include noise in both output and input variables. Therefore, solutions of the optimization problem may reveal a remarkable sensitivity to perturbations in the parameters of the problem. The data uncertainty results in uncertain constraints and objective function. To overcome this difficulty, we refine our CMARS algorithm by a robust optimiz...
RRW: repeated random walks on genome-scale protein networks for local cluster discovery
MACROPOL, Kathy; Can, Tolga; Singh, Ambuj K. (2009-09-09)
Background: We propose an efficient and biologically sensitive algorithm based on repeated random walks (RRW) for discovering functional modules, e. g., complexes and pathways, within large-scale protein networks. Compared to existing cluster identification techniques, RRW implicitly makes use of network topology, edge weights, and long range interactions between proteins.
RMARS: Robustification of multivariate adaptive regression spline under polyhedral uncertainty
Ozmen, Ayse; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm (Elsevier BV, 2014-03-15)
Since, with increased volatility and further uncertainties, financial crises translated a high "noise" within data from financial markets and economies into the related models, recent years' events in the financial world have led to radically untrustworthy representations of the future. Hence, robustification started to attract more attention in finance. The presence of noise and data uncertainty raises critical problems to be dealt with on the theoretical and computational side. For immunizing against para...
RXTE and Swift Observations of SWIFT J0513.4-6547
Sahiner, S.; Serim, Muhammed Miraç; Baykal, Altan; İNAM, SITKI ÇAĞDAŞ (Oxford University Press (OUP), 2016-02-11)
We present timing and spectral analysis of Swift-XRT (X-ray Telescope) and RXTE-PCA (Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer-proportional Counter Array) observations of the transient Be/X-ray pulsar SWIFT J0513.4-6547 during its outburst in 2009 and its rebrightening in 2014. From 2009 observations, short-term spin-up rate of the source after the peak of the outburst is found to have about half of the value measured at the peak of the outburst by Coe et al. When the source is quiescent between 2009 and 2014, average sp...
