Software process improvement
Elalmış, Mert Erkan; Yücel, Melek D; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2007)
In this thesis the software development process and in particular, the requirements management processes in a major software development company have been investigated. The current problems related to requirements quality and process performances have been identified. Process improvement measures have been proposed based on the suggestions found in the relevant literature. The current process and the improved version have been compared with respect to the process evaluation metrics proposed particularly for...
Software process improvement based on static process evaluation
Seçkin, Haldun; Bilgen, Semih; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2006)
This study investigates software development process improvement approaches. In particular, the static process evaluation methodology proposed by S. Güceğlioğlu is applied on the requirements analysis and validation process applied in Project X in MYCOMPANY and an improved process is proposed. That methodology is an extension of the ISO/IEC 9126 approach for software quality assessment, and is based on evaluating a set of well-defined metrics on the static model of software development processes. The improv...
Software test-code engineering: A systematic mapping
Yusifoglu, Vahid Garousi; Amannejad, Yasaman; Betin Can, Aysu (2015-02-01)
Context: As a result of automated software testing, large amounts of software test code (script) are usually developed by software teams. Automated test scripts provide many benefits, such as repeatable, predictable, and efficient test executions. However, just like any software development activity, development of test scripts is tedious and error prone. We refer, in this study, to all activities that should be conducted during the entire lifecycle of test-code as Software Test-Code Engineering (STCE).
Software process improvement in a software development environment
Konuralp, Zeynep; Bilgen, Semih; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2007)
A software process improvement study is presented. The literature on software development processes and their improvement is reviewed. The current peer review process at Software Engineering Directorate of the X Company, Ankara, Türkiye (XCOM) is studied and the static software development metrics based on a recent proposal have been evaluated. The static software metrics based improvement suggestions and the author’s improvement suggestions discussed with the senior staff are compared. An improved peer rev...
Software-Defined Network Security
Demirpolat, Ahmed; Ergenç, Doğanalp; Öztürk, Eşref; Ayar, Yusuf; Onur, Ertan (2018-01-01)
The future networks are expected to lead a hyper-connected society with the promise of high social and economic value. The goal is to solve today's network problems and provide satisfactory security. Thus, the future networks require a flexible infrastructure that is secure against cyberattacks. Software defined networking (SDN) can be considered as one of the building blocks of upcoming networking technologies. In this chapter, first, the limitations of today's networks are presented. Then, solutions to se...
