Facile synthesis of aryl-substituted pyridines via Suzuki-Miyaura approach
KARADENİZ, EDA; Zora, Metin; KILIÇASLAN, Nihan Zulay (2015-11-25)
A facile and efficient synthetic route to arylpyridines is reported. When heated with boronic acids in the presence of 5 mol % PdCl2(PPh3)(2) and KHCO3 in 4:1 DMF/H2O solution at 110 degrees C, 5-iodopyridines have undergone Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions to afford 5-aryl-substituted pyridines in good to excellent yields. The coupling reaction has been found to be general for a broad range of iodopyridines and boronic acids, and demonstrated good tolerance to a variety of aliphatic, aromatic, heteroaroma...
Facile synthesis of (4-nitrophenyl)thio-substituted 1- pyrrolines
Korkmaz, Esra; Zora, Metin; Department of Chemistry (2019)
The importance of heterocyclic compounds is enormous in synthetic organic chemistry due to their presence in bioactive molecules. Five-membered 1-pyrrolines are one of the most important classes of them. They have recently drawn great attention from synthetic chemists since they have a prominent role for the synthesis of a great number of pharmaceutical molecules. Therefore, there is intense research on their synthesis. In this project, we concentrated on the synthesis of (4-nitrophenyl)thio-substituted 1- ...
Facile synthesis of heavily-substituted alkynylpyridines via a Sonogashira approach
Kelgokmen, Yılmaz; Zora, Metin (2016-01-01)
A facile and efficient synthetic route to densely substituted alkynylpyridines via a Sonogashira approach is reported. When treated with terminal alkynes in the presence of 5 mol% PdCl2(PPh3)(2), 5 mol% CuI and excess Et3N in DMF at 65 degrees C, iodopyridines underwent Sonogashira coupling to afford alkynyl-substituted pyridines in good to excellent yields. The coupling reaction has been found to be general for a wide range of iodopyridines and terminal alkynes, and tolerated the presence of aliphatic, aro...
Facile synthesis of alkynyl-, aryl- and ferrocenyl-substituted pyrazoles via Sonogashira and Suzuki-Miyaura approaches
KARABIYIKOĞLU, Sedef; Zora, Metin (2016-10-01)
A concise and efficient synthesis of densely substituted novel pyrazoles with alkynyl, aryl and ferrocenyl functionalities is reported, providing a platform for biological studies. The general strategy involves Sonogashira and Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions of easily obtainable 5-ferrocenyl/phenyl-4-iodo-1-phenylpyrazoles with terminal alkynes and boronic acids, respectively. The starting 4-iodopyrazoles were synthesized by electrophilic cyclization of alpha,beta-alkynic hydrazones with molecular i...
Facile Synthesis of Three-Dimensional Pt-TiO2 Nano-networks: A Highly Active Catalyst for the Hydrolytic Dehydrogenation of Ammonia-Borane
Khalily, Mohammad Aref; Eren, Hamit; Akbayrak, Serdar; Susapto, Hepi Hari; BIYIKLI, NECMİ; Özkar, Saim; GÜLER, Mustafa Özgür (2016-09-26)
Three-dimensional (3D) porous metal and metal oxide nanostructures have received considerable interest because organization of inorganic materials into 3D nanomaterials holds extraordinary properties such as low density, high porosity, and high surface area. Supramolecular self-assembled peptide nanostructures were exploited as an organic template for catalytic 3D Pt-TiO2 nano-network fabrication. A 3D peptide nanofiber aerogel was conformally coated with TiO2 by atomic layer deposition (ALD) with angstrom-...
