Defocusing beam line design for an irradiation facility at the TAEA SANAEM Proton Accelerator Facility
Gencer, A.; Demirköz, Melahat Bilge; Efthymiopoulos, I.; Yigitoglu, M. (2016-07-11)
Electronic components must be tested to ensure reliable performance in high radiation environments such as Hi-Limu LHC and space. We propose a defocusing beam line to perform proton irradiation tests in Turkey. The Turkish Atomic Energy Authority SANAEM Proton Accelerator Facility was inaugurated in May 2012 for radioisotope production. The facility has also an R&D room for research purposes. The accelerator produces protons with 30 MeV kinetic energy and the beam current is variable between 10 mu A and 1.2...
Reconfigurable antenna structure for RFID system applications using varactor-loading technique
Sevinç, Yusuf; Kaya, Adnan (2012-01-01)
A novel method is presented for electrically tuning the frequency of a compact radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag antenna. A tuning circuit, comprising a radio frequency (RF) switch and discrete passive components, was completely integrated into the antenna element, which is thus free of DC wires. The low-profile printed antennas were fabricated together with the layouts of the DC control circuits and other RF/baseband circuit footprints. A surface-mounted varactor was applied as a frequency-tuning e...

Reconfigurable Nested Ring-Split Ring Transmitarray Unit Cell Employing the Element Rotation Method by Microfluidics
Erdil, Emre; TOPALLI, KAĞAN; Esmaeilzad, Nasim S.; Zorlu, Ozge; Külah, Haluk; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem (2015-03-01)
A continuously tunable, circularly polarized X-band microfluidic transmitarray unit cell employing the element rotation method is designed and fabricated. The unit cell comprises a double layer nested ringsplit ring structure realized as microfluidic channels embedded in Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) using soft lithography techniques. Conductive regions of the rings are formed by injecting a liquid metal (an alloy of Ga, In, and Sn), whereas the split region is air. Movement of the liquid metal together with ...
Reroute sequence planning in multiprotocol label switching networks
Özbilgin, İzzet Gökhan; Bazlamaçcı, Cüneyt Fehmi; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2004)
The growth of the Internet has caused the development of new protocols that enable IP networks to be engineered efficiently. One such protocol, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) enables IP datagrams in backbone networks to be forwarded based on the label switching forwarding paradigm. In MPLS networks, rerouting of Label Switching Paths (LSPs) can be needed in order to attain a better resource utilization in the network. In this case, a sequence of LSPs has to be found for their one by one reconfiguratio...
