Temperature effect on calcium aluminate cement based composite binders
Kırca, Önder; Tokyay, Mustafa; Department of Civil Engineering (2006)
In calcium aluminate cement (CAC) systems the hydration process is different than portland cement (PC) systems. The hydration products of CAC are subjected to conversion depending on temperature, moisture, water-cement ratio, cement content, etc. Consequently, strength of CAC system can be seriously reduced. However, presence of other inorganic binders or additives may alter the hydration process and improve various properties of CAC based composites. The objective of this study is to investigate the temper...
Temperature effects on the properties of Ge thin films
Günal, İbrahim (1999-10-01)
The effects of substrate temperature (T-s) on the properties of vacuum evaporated p-type Ge thin films have been investigated for 25 < T-s < 400 degrees C. Increase in the substrate temperature improves the crystallinity and increases the grain size resulting a gradual change from amorphous to polycrystalline structure which was attained above a substrate temperature of 225 degrees C. Low resistive (1 x 10(-2) ohm-cm) and high mobility (280 cm(2)/V . s) films were obtained at T-s = 400 degrees C. It has bee...
Temperature Dependence of Susceptibility in the Ferrielectric Phase of Ammonium Sulphate
Enginer, Y.; Salihoǧlu, S.; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2003-08-01)
We have developed a mean field model for the paraelectric-ferrielectric phase transition in ammonium sulphate. In our model we assume that the quadrupolar. interactions are the dominant mechanism for this type of transition. The fit of our calculated susceptibility to the experimental data shows that the free energy, with a quadrupolar coupling term, can also adequately explain the observed behaviour of ammonium sulphate
Temperature evolution on Rh/Al2O3 catalyst during partial oxidation of methane in a reverse flow reactor
Simeone, M.; Menna, L.; Salemme, L.; Allouis, Christophe Gerard (2010-04-01)
Catalytic partial oxidation of methane was investigated in a reverse flow reactor with commercial Rh/Al2O3 catalyst in pellets. The process is carried out in a catalytic fixed bed reactor and switching of feed flow direction is obtained through four electrovalves synchronized in pairs. Temperature profile along the catalyst bed was measured by fast IR themiography and product composition was measured with a continuous gas analyzer.
Temperature influence on the dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholyne - Model membranes studied by FTIR
Korkmaz, F.; Severcan, Feride; Aflori, M.; Dorohoi, D. O. (2008-06-01)
Lyotropic liquid crystals are realized from certain concentration of amphiphilic molecules, such as phospholipids, in water. The specific interactions in which water is involved are very important for model-membrane stability. Dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholyne (DPPC) model membranes have been studied by FTIR technique at different temperatures in the spectral range {2500 - 4000} cm(-1). A Gaussian deconvolution has been performed in order to study the water behaviour from the point of view of hydrogen-bond for...
