This study aims to present preliminary findings of the Digital Teachers Project that is carried out with elementary schools teachers in Turkey, which is basically designed to develop and improve their digital literacy and competencies. This project aims to contribute to digital transformation in education by increasing and improving the digital competencies of teachers who have difficulties in using digital technologies in their classes, especially during the emergency remote education we are experiencing d...
HvGCN2 silencing in barley displays enhanced Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei susceptibility
Ozturk, Ibrahim Kutay; Ersoy, Figen; Sezener Akkaya, Mahinur (National Library of Serbia, 2018)
Powdery mildew disease, caused by Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei (Bgh), which belongs to the order Erysiphales, is a major crop disease. The general control nondepressible-2 (GCN2) gene of barley was previously found to be overexpressed during the powdery mildew resistance response. Recently, Arabidopsis thaliana GCN2 (AtGCN2) was shown to be involved in disease resistance against biotrophic and necrotrophic pathogens. In order to understand the function of Hordeum vulgare GCN2 (HvGCN2) in the barley powde...
OpenFOAM solutions coupled with WRF for wind power estimation
Leblebici, Engin; Tuncer, İsmail Hakkı (2017-06-05)
The open source flow solver OpenFOAM is coupled with the mesoscale weather prediction software WRF in order to predict the atmospheric flows in complex terrains more accurately and to predict the daily wind energy production potential accurately. The low resolution, unsteady WRF solution provides the spatially varying unsteady boundary conditions for OpenFOAM solutions on high resolution terrain fitted viscous grids. Coupled OpenFOAM solutions are successfully obtained for Mersin/Mut region in Turkey. It is...
