Multivariate morphometric analyses revealed that the range of Rana bedriagae caralitana extends further west to include Çardak in Denizli (western Turkey). The presence of the forms caralitana and nominate bedriagae syntopically may indicate species status for the former.

Exceptional maternal lineage diversity in brown bears (Ursus arctos) from Turkey
Cilingir, F. Gozde; Peksen, Cigdem Akin; Ambarli, Huseyin; Beerli, Peter; Bilgin, Cemal Can (Oxford University Press (OUP), 2016-02-01)
The genetic diversity and phylogeography of maternal lineages in Ursus arctos Linnaeus, 1758 (the brown bear) have been studied extensively over the last two decades; however, sampling has largely been limited to the northern Holarctic, and was possibly biased towards lineages that recolonized the vast expanses of the north as the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) ended. Here we report the genetic diversity and phylogeography of U.arctos from Turkey based on 35 non-invasive samples, including five from captive ind...
Nationalism and religion in the formation of modern state in Turkey and Egypt until World War I
Boztemur, Recep (2005-12-01)
This study discusses the formation of national identity and the nation state in the modern Middle East in comparison with Turkey, one of the earlier models, of national state formation in the region. The basic aim of the study is to examine the position of religion and religious identity as the source of legitimacy in the modern state. In order to have a better understanding of the relationship between nationalism and religion in the Middle East, the study attempts to look at the development of Egyptian nat...
Determining space use and demography of a reintroduced fallow deer (dama dama) population using GPS telemetry in Dilek Peninsula National Park, Turkey
Durmuş, Mustafa; Bilgin, Cemal Can; Department of Biology (2019)
The Fallow Deer (Dama dama) population in Turkey is presumed to be one of the few autochthonous populations globally. Although the species has been under protection since the 1960s, it had become restricted to a single site in Düzlerçamı, Antalya. Within the context of a reintroduction project, 21 deer were translocated into Dilek Peninsula National Park (Aydın, Turkey) in 2011 and 2012. Fifteen individuals were GPS-collared and monitored between 2011 and 2013 to understand their movements, habitat choice a...
Application of artificial neural network and logistic regression methods to landslide susceptibility mapping and comparison of the results for the ulus district, Bartin Bartin, ulus ilçesi için yapay sinir aǧi ve lojistik regresyon yöntemlerinin heyelan duyarlilik çalişmasina uygulanmasi ve karşilaştirilmasi
Morphometric and electrophoretic variation in different honeybee (Apis mellifera L.) populations
Kandemir, I; Kence, M; Kence, Aykut (2005-01-01)
Honeybee colonies from Turkey, Naxcivan (Azerbajan) and Austria were studied for morphometric and electrophoretic variation and for comparison among different subspecies. Out of six enzyme systems, four were found to be polymorphic with 14 allozymes. Discriminant function analysis of 10 morphometric variables resulted in a total of four groups. Cluster analysis of electrophoretic data showed a similar type of groupings. Among the four polymorphic loci, Mdh-1 showed the highest and Est-3 the lowest different...
