Torque Components Identification of Induction Machine by FEM
Skalka, Miroslav; Ondrusek, Cestmir; Schreier, Ludek; Michailidis, Petr (2011-09-10)
This paper contains torque components identification of 3-phase induction machine. Electromagnetic torque and pulsating torque is calculated via a circular path integral of the Maxwell stress tensor which provides a convenient way of computing forces acting on bodies by evaluating a surface integral. Torque calculations are done by finite element method in ANSYS and MATLAB. Also there are identified a high harmonic components of calculated torque with additional asynchronous torque calculation. The torque i...

Transformers Analysis Design and Measurement
Ertan, Hulusi Bülent (CRC press, 2012-01-01)
Recent catastrophic blackouts have exposed major vulnerabilities in the existing generation, transmission, and distribution systems of transformers widely used for energy transfer, measurement, protection, and signal coupling. As a result, the reliability of the entire power system is now uncertain, and many blame severe underinvestment, aging technology, and a conservative approach to innovation. Composed of contributions from noted industry experts around the world, Transformers: Analysis, Design, and Me...
Sheet metal forming analyses with an emphasis on the springback deformation
FIRAT, MEHMET; Kaftanoglu, Bilgin; Eser, Orhan (Elsevier BV, 2008-01-21)
An accurate modeling of the sheet metal deformations including the springback is one of the key factors in the efficient utilization of FE process simulation in the industrial setting. In this paper, a rate-independent anisotropic plasticity model accounting the Bauschinger effect is presented and applied in the FE forming and springback analyses. The proposed model uses the Hill's quadratic yield function in the description of the anisotropic yield loci of planar and transversely anisotropic sheets. The ma...
